Does anyone read this? Or am I the only one not bouncing? Plastic,
are you out there? If so, feel free to put this on Sphere, if it's
worthy;)
Stu
Session Start (socialhiphop:forthelistener): Tue Jan 08 12:50:11 2008
[12:50] SocialHipHop: Dan, it's Stu...any idea when/where you'll be
in Lancaster, PA next?
[12:50] SocialHipHop: I know you had said March
[12:50] forthelistener: let me look
[12:51] forthelistener: we're looking like april 12th right
now....it's a saturday.
[12:57] SocialHipHop: cool, where?
[12:57] forthelistener: I don't know yet....it's too far out, but
somewhere?
[12:57] SocialHipHop: good deal...lots of people picking up
Struggleville
[12:58] SocialHipHop: ?
[12:58] SocialHipHop: is it on Tooth and Nail yet?
[13:03] forthelistener: yeah, we've sold a good bit of them already.
We'e been pre-selling them on the road (as you know) so that's kind
of hampered the pre-sales online, but still pretty dang good.....no,
it's not on T&N....we're still talking with them though.
[13:03] SocialHipHop: nice
[13:04] SocialHipHop: can't wait for DS5
[13:04] SocialHipHop: I lent out Listener & Dust and Struggleville to
some friends over the holidays
[13:05] forthelistener: hope they had a happy holidays then :)
[13:06] SocialHipHop: loving others as themselves and whatnot....
[13:07] forthelistener: yeah
[13:07] SocialHipHop: I must admit, the Christmas album was in my CDs
most of the season...even though I ring bell for the Salvation Army.
[13:08] SocialHipHop: Don't Touch the Drums was my inspiration
[13:08] forthelistener: did you listen to it while you rang the bell?
[13:09] SocialHipHop: no
[13:09] SocialHipHop: in my head though;)
[13:10] forthelistener: that would have been good to put down on our
site as a selling point....maybe I'll do it anyways.
[13:10] SocialHipHop: and I played most of the album for my teen
Sunday School class
[13:10] SocialHipHop: yes, do
[13:10] SocialHipHop: "Inspiring Salvation Army Bellringers
everywhere (or at least in Lancaster, PA)"
[13:10] forthelistener: **"You can even listen to it while you ring
the bell for Salvation Army"....or something like that.
[13:11] SocialHipHop: yup
[13:15] SocialHipHop: working on any other projects?
[13:15] forthelistener: yep, a new album
[13:15] forthelistener: ds5 ep
[13:15] forthelistener: and a solo album
[13:16] SocialHipHop: nice
[13:16] forthelistener: or rather a ds5 ep, and a solo album and
that's it...solo meaning listener project.
[13:16] SocialHipHop: I see
[13:16] SocialHipHop: I was hoping you'd have your wife on there....
[13:16] forthelistener: yeah, she's on the RTS cd too
[13:16] SocialHipHop: You two make a great team.
[13:16] forthelistener: thanks
[13:17] SocialHipHop: We'll see how amenable my gf is to travelling
around the countryside (though not as much as you guys do).
[13:18] SocialHipHop: I've decided it's great to follow and artists
for 10+ years and see how they grow...I use you and John Reuben as an
example
[13:18] forthelistener: it's been an interesting and fun road.
[13:20] SocialHipHop: I bet
[13:21] SocialHipHop: she was your college sweetheart huh (or at
least you met there)
[13:22] SocialHipHop: Hey, I should post this as an informal
interview on the Yahoo Group (with your permission)
[13:23] forthelistener: yeah, we met in college in an economics
class.....you can post it, that's fine with me.
[13:23] SocialHipHop: Refresh my memory, did you subscribe to that?
(I started it in '98)
[13:23] SocialHipHop: '98
[13:23] forthelistener: subscribe to what?
[13:23] SocialHipHop: or just to the one I did in college 95-96?
[13:24] SocialHipHop: The Yahoo Group
[13:24] SocialHipHop: groups.yahoo.com/holyhiphop
[13:24] forthelistener: I don't know? I don't remember any yahoo
groups.....I don't yahoo very much
[13:24] SocialHipHop: I know we met somewhere online...maybe through
Joyful Noize?
[13:25] SocialHipHop: because you sent me the tapes in '96 when I was
in central MA
[13:26] forthelistener: maybe that was it....I don't remember, I've
slept since then :)
[13:29] SocialHipHop: that's cool man, I just remember...it HAD to
be '95 because I introduced Jason King to Labklik back then
[13:29] SocialHipHop: He's done some management in Nashville with
some Gotee artists
[13:29] SocialHipHop: But I must admit that I slept until DS5
[13:30] forthelistener: oh yeah, jason king. I've met with him a
couple times.
[13:32] forthelistener: 95, really, it's been a long time.....I think
I started making music in 93 or 94
[13:32] SocialHipHop: We actually judged a regional talent event for
youth together...the rap competition part....
[13:32] SocialHipHop: back before I was online
[13:32] forthelistener: sweet....yeah waaaaay before the internet. I
remember those times...back when we just had cassette tapes and the
US Mail service.
[13:33] SocialHipHop: yes yes yall
[13:34] forthelistener: it's so much more convenient to send MP3s or
set up an FTP site to exchange music projects than to send it through
the mail
[13:34] forthelistener: nerd time
[13:34] forthelistener: hey brother. I gotta jet. it was good
chatting with you. I've been at panera bread checking my email and
such. HAve a great day
[[13:36] SocialHipHop: God Bless you Dan
