I have seen before in this group the wish for note-beaming.
8th or 16th note-groups divided in beamed quarternote groups.
I have a lot of young pupils, (starting from 9 years old) who have
problems with not beamed note groups. They don't see the rhythms
quickly. Especially syncopation is difficult.

Is there a way to group notes in quarters?

The program is a good educational tool.

Greetings
Wlady,
saxophone teacher.

REPLY from the moderator:

Wlady,

We'll increase the priority of note beaming in our development work.

Meanwhile, you might mention to your students that the grouping
of notes can be seen when the cursor is over a bar. You can
also turn this on for *all* bars by choosing
'Show all construction lines'
from the View menu. Also, when slots are selected, the downbeats
are highlighted in red and others in yellow.

You might also suggest to your students that placement of notes on
or off the beat is more important than the groupings as such.
This is especially true for swinging, and Impro-Visor bases
swing articulation entirely on this principle.

I'm glad you're enjoying the tool.

Regards,

Bob Keller
