REPLY: (This is in the tutorial, I believe, but just in case ...)

When the window first opens, the first slot is the selection.

To extend the selection, shift-click on any slot OUTSIDE the selection.

To start a new selection, extend, then shift-click again.
(Shift-clicking INSIDE a selection selects just that one slot.)

You can also extend the selection by dragging on the corners
of the box that surrounds it. There are implicit handles there.
