Please go to www.youtube.com and search "Superspending". This is my parody about the stimulus package to the tune of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", shot in hi-def video by Mike Yonts. It's also an experiment in viral marketing, so please forward, link, post and otherwise spread if you like this little ditty. If not, then please just delete and get on with things. The show will be held on Saturday, March 21beginning at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church in Danville.(While the show is held in a church building, it is in no way intended topromote any particular religious point of view.)
Kara Barnard describes herself as "a well-known, unknown, one-woman 4 piece band that fits easily into the back of a small, fuel-efficient touring vehicle". She began performing as a child along with her parents and sister. Later she and her sister formed a very successful duo that performed regularly at venues in Nashville, Indiana, recorded 3 CDs, appeared several times on PBS and were the opening act for artists like James Taylor, Wynonna Judd, Dave Matthews, REO Speedwagon and Fleetwood Mac. Now performing solo as well as touring and recording with some top national independent artists,Kara continues to amaze listeners with her jaw-dropping instrumentation. She is commonly heard on radio stations from Hawaii to New York and has been written about in several industry magazines including Acoustic Guitar and SingOut. Among her many achievements, she was once recognized as the top female mandolinist in Indiana. In addition to countless national studio credits and solo performances, she has produced 7 of her own projects, some of which will be available for purchase at the show.
