The wonderful poet Sudarshan 'Fakir' whose many ghazals we have heard from Jagjitji passwed away in Jalandhar on 18th February 2008. He was 73 years old.

Jagjitji and Fakir sahab, both worked together in Jalandhar Radio. The first ever ghazal composed by Jagjitji was penned by Fakir sahab. It was "Kuchh to duniya ki inaayat ne dil tod diya".

And from there started a friendship which lasted decades and Jagjitji's voice and Fakir sahab's words created magic for the times to come.

The last time Jagjitji sang a ghazal by Fakir sahab was in Cry for CRY in 1995. The ghazal was "Aaj ke daur mein ae dost yeh manzar kyun hai".

Fakir is survived by his wife Sudesh, son Manav, daughter-in-law Ishita and grandson Aryaman.

Lets homage to the great shayar....... whose words will always keep him alive in the hearts of innumerable fans worldwide...
