I find it funny that I can't remember how to post here! Can't say that I have
migrated to discuss James whatnot on Facebook, just lazy I guess.  Looking
forward to him coming to Phoenix in June.

Saw DBT a couple weeks ago in Phoenix and always enjoy seeing them - it had been
10 years since they last played in our fair city so I was totally excited not to
have to travel to Tucson or Park City for the RAWK show :-)  The Showbox would
have been a great venue to see them, and I used to see James at the Tractor way
back when (last lived in Seattle area in 1999).  I have to say I like James'
fans more :-) There were some really beefy dicks up front at the show that
should have been a little more respectful of small women in the front. Nothing
like those Kentucky boys that were up front in Park City oh so long ago Linda
:-)

They looked exactly like someone Wes Freed would draw on a DBT cover, huh? But,
not being down there in the middle of them like you were, I did enjoy their
speed-fed enthusiasm. So glad the DBTs finally came back to Phoenix for you!

As for this board, I think a few later members here who were a little too ...
well, a little too, we'll just leave it at that, chased folks off, just about
the time the FB group launched. It was right out there for everyone and really,
you kind of had to search this group out. If I hadn't sent an interview  query
to Lily at the Web site and got an invitation from her to join, I don't know if
I would have ever known about it.

And yes, now I am a "friend" of the James group on Facebook -- I wasn't a
Facebook or Twitter gal until my editor made me join (it is a great promotional
tool for the online music stories, I must say). I am "friends" with a lot of
bands there -- but must admit to not paying any of those groups much attention
(though I did leave one comment for him on FB about sparkling for the cameras 
and bein' charismatic when he was being filmed for TV a little while ago, and
got a "yeah rigth" back. If I don't kid him, for God's sakes, who will?)

SCL people -- JM is playing June 21 at the Utah Arts Festival.

to talk.  (Yes I realize the audacity of my request and the unlikeness of his
agreeing.)

This “plan” involves an old girlfriend of his, who is a scholar/friend of
mine, and one who is willing to attempt to call in a favor.

In the miracle that it comes off, it could be glorious.

The shows are shaping up nicely.  I am headed to Detroit and Buffalo next month.

And yes, that was a nasty tornado.  Of course, some of the recent ones around

Saw DBT a couple weeks ago in Phoenix and always enjoy seeing them - it had been
10 years since they last played in our fair city so I was totally excited not to
have to travel to Tucson or Park City for the RAWK show :-) The Showbox would
have been a great venue to see them, and I used to see James at the Tractor way
back when (last lived in Seattle area in 1999). I have to say I like James' fans
more :-) There were some really beefy dicks up front at the show that should
have been a little more respectful of small women in the front. Nothing like
those Kentucky boys that were up front in Park City oh so long ago Linda :-)

And this is the glory that once was our little group! Greg you simply must
give details once you get the chance. I had a friend who tried to get James
to talk in Virginia. I forget what university he was at - a Woodrow Wilson
scholar - and something seemed to fall through at the last minute. But then
again that was years ago. What is up with the "charming" issue lately!??!
There was that pic of the guys before they went onstage with James actually
smiling that really threw me off (posted onto FB).

James had to be amused at the interviewer's use of "y'all's," clearly a lame

from CNN, I suspect.

James had to be amused at the interviewer's use of "y'all's," clearly a
lame attempt at adopting Texas vernacular.

Had a commoner asked such an asinine question, I don't think ol' James
would have been nearly as nonplussed.

Was the last time you went to Austin was when we met in Austin, I very happily
got to meet Tay and other people who liked me less  and had a slumber party?
That was a fun trip. That was last May, if you can believe that.

Next time I come, it will probably be with my daughter -- she's alwasy wanted to
go when she turns 21.

from CNN, I suspect.

James had to be amused at the interviewer's use of "y'all's," clearly a

lame attempt at adopting Texas vernacular.

Had a commoner asked such an asinine question, I don't think ol' James

would have been nearly as nonplussed.

happily got to meet Tay and other people who liked me less and had a
slumber party? That was a fun trip. That was last May, if you can
believe that.

Good point. To my eye, he was clearly not amused, but as you say it was

CNN. He's learning, I'll give him that. Maybe by the time he's 80

James took the question "pretty well" only because the interviewer was

from CNN, I suspect.

James had to be amused at the interviewer's use of "y'all's," clearly a

lame attempt at adopting Texas vernacular.

Had a commoner asked such an asinine question, I don't think ol' James

would have been nearly as nonplussed.
