Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,
Sorry yet again for not alot of updates during the month of April,
Spring business always to spring up and keep me busy. Here's the latest:
1# A new Jamiroquai site dedicated to live recordings has recently
launched - the Jamiroquai Bootleg Vault (LINK:
http://simonmerrick.co.uk/jbv/ ) contains a continually growing list
of bootleg recordings for download.
Since the excellent audio archives from mtey.com are no longer
available, here's hoping that this site gives fans a great resource to
build up their live audio collection.
Thanks to Simon Merrick (from stuartzender.co.uk) for launching the
site.

2# Here is an update from ex-Jamiroquai keyboard player Toby
Smith.... The band that he's working with - The Hoosiers - have been
the single of the week on iTunes this past week, and the track (Worst
Case Scenario) is currently available for free download. Any
(positive) comments posted at iTunes would be appreciated :)
Their first official single release (Worried about Ray) will be
released towards the end of June. They've made it onto the soundtrack
for the Fifa 2008 video game, will soon be recording a gig for BBC
Radio 2, and were on MTV UK's Spanking New Music show this week (LINK:
http://www.mtv.co.uk/spankingnew ).
Things certainly are looking good for them, and for more
information check out their MySpace pages at myspace.com/thehoosiers.
Toby is doing all of this work through his company Angelic Union,
who have just launched their new website (LINK:
http://www.angelicunion.co.uk ). Angelic Union is a company that
produces and develops new musical artists before they are signed by
major record labels.

3# In an Adidas press release issued today (Saturday), Jay has been
confirmed as a driver in this years controversial Gumball 3000 Rally.
Part of the press release reads as follows:
US hip hop artist Xzibit has recently been more used to picking up
barely road worthy wrecks in need of serious repair as the star of hit
MTV show Pimp My Ride. For the Gumball 3000 he will get behind the
wheel of an altogether different type of car - the Lamborghini Gallardo.
X's adidas team mate for the event is a well known for his love of
fast supercars and all things three stripe. Jamiroquai superstar Jay
Kay takes charge of a Maserati Quattroporte for the 8 day 3000 mile
round trip.
Over the coming days there will no doubt be lots of news,
photographs and coverage of the event, so please feel free to post
links etc. as a comment to this news item.
Over recent years Jay has been rumoured to have been driving in
the event but it seems like this is the year he actually gets behind
the wheel. Safe driving everyone...
Updates from various sources will also be posted to the official
site (LINK:

4# Over recent years different members of Jamiroquai have given
talks and performances to people interested in music at a variety of
different events - a good example being a performance and Q&A session
that most of the band did following their concert at the Montreux Jazz
Festival in 2003.
Well, on Monday June 18 The Institute Of Contemporary Music
Performance is holding a "Jamiroquai Masterclass" at The Luminaire, in
Kilburn, London.
"We will welcome Paul Turner (Bass), Derrick McKenzie (Drums) Sola
Akingbola (percussion) and Rob Harris (Guitar) to perform a very
special gig at the Luminaire."
Tickets are free but you have to get them in advance. More
details can be found at The Institute Of Contemporary Music
Performance website (LINK:

Jamiroquai keyboard player Matt Johnson has now been confirmed as one
of the artists playing at the Antwerp Harbour Jazz & Soul Festival
being held in Antwerp, Belgium on 12th May.
Matt will be performing as part of the Cleo & The Antwerp Harbour
