Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

15 YEARS AGO TODAY....

15 years ago today, on 19 October 1992, a relatively unknown band
called Jamiroquai released a single called When You Gonna Learn? on
the Acid Jazz record label in the UK.

Little did Jay, Toby, Wallis and the other bandmembers know what was
about to happen to themselves over the coming months and years. Back
then the band didn't have a major label record deal and we've come
full circle to now, where the band are in the same position (although
they're no longer unknown!).

Its been an amazing cosmic ride so far. Congratulations Jamiroquai
for the past 15 years and we look forward to what happens next...

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT 15 YEARS OF JAMIROQUAI....

Yes, I like much of you was a "sprite young lad" of 15 earth cycles
traversing his local independant record store in late 1991/early 1992
when WYGL plumed through the air and inherented itself into my
musical loves . Amongest the endless JK interviews from over the
years, JK and the band never did expect to become the WORLD'S proper
purveyor and revivalists of Acid Jazz/Funk, but Jamiroquai are now
legendary with their fans, having spurned 6 multi-platinum studios, a
plethora of 1# hits, several Grammies, a World Music Award, A Ivor
Novello Award, 11 MTV Video Music Awards, among the most prominant
accolades. So 15 years on, Jamiroquai continues to influence us all,
either with their music, their lyrical principles ( Personally I
continue to abide by, respecting all humanity and using common sense
has a invaluable guidance resource ), their common human emotive
opinions that ring true during any time in our existance, teaching
other bands how to MAKE music and their KILLER and unstoppable live
shows . And I could not well forget all the fellow fans whom have
connected due to their love of the music of Jamiroquai, through the
forums, groups, social communities and other places on the internet
where they meet up . Here's to JK, and everyone in the Jamiroquai
Universe, may the new independant and digital Jamiroquai be AS
FRUITFUL....AND MORE FRUITFUL to us all in the coming time . Cheers!

AND NOW, THE LATEST NEWS....

1# The official Jamiroquai website at jamiroquai.com has posted a
news item with details of the Runaway promo video moon buggy which
Jay Kay is currently selling...

"It is fully road legal with a 250cc engine from a quad bike ,
first MOT due in Sept 2009, currently sworned . A unique one off ,
still owned by Jay Kay , successful bidder will meet Jay and have a
photo on hand over the vehicle."

2# This is a few months old but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Back in 2003 funkin.com reported that Jamiroquai had broken the
capacity record for Wembley Arena in London. Well, in June of this
year Jamiroquai's record was broken by Pearl Jam. Music Week (UK)
reported...

"With 12,470 Pearl Jam fans packing the venue in North West
London yesterday, compared to the 11,673 who attended their last sell-
out gig at the arena in 2000, the band set a new house record. The
previous house record of 12,337 was held by Jamiroquai for their 2002
show."

Wembley Arena was closed and re-developed a few years ago and
as such Jamiroquai still retain the capacity record for the old venue.

There you go, all the news for now. To all the newest members of
the group, WELCOME, I hope you have a great time and keep abreast
with the latest of Jamiroquai through this group and all the member
sites of the Online Jamily! Cheers and see you soon with more news!
