Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

Sorry for the latest lack of updates, just been taking TOO EASY in this humid
Indian Summer of 2009. Here's some 'odds N' ends' slim pickening of Jami News:

1# Although released some time ago in the UK/Europe, this week saw the release
of Jamiroquai's 'Live at Montreux' concert on high-definition Blu-Ray in North
America/Canada. There's a few reviews of the disc out there (e.g., at
Blu-ray.com - http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?id=6020&show=review - who
rate it quite highly and have 20 screenshots online) and the disc is available
with some pretty good discounts from many online stores.
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

2# Ex-Jamiroquai keyboard player Toby Smith and bass player Stuart Zender have
recently been doing some work together. Stuart recently wrote on twitter:

"...Just a quick update. The ROOH [Running Out Of Heroes] album is coming
along nicely. Last weekend i met Toby G-Smith and have pulled him in for a track
or two. It should be amazing as i have always rated Toby a top Keys man. I will
have a sample soon..."

The latest and greatest Stuart Zender information can as always be found at
www.StuartZender.net .
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

3# Fashion shop New Look has recently started selling a 'Jamiropie T-Shirt'
which has an image based on the 'Jamiroman' - the animated character from the
2005 music video for '(Don't)Give Hate A Chance'.

The t-shirt is available from the UK New Look website (LINK:
http://www.newlook.co.uk/1742792/174279286/ProductDetails.aspx ).
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

4# Jay's been busy out and about recently - and on Sunday he was at the
Cartier International Polo Day held at Guards Polo Club in Windsor Great Park,
near London.

Back in 2004 it was reported that Jay attended the event to watch his first
ever Polo match, and I guess he's still going back for more.

Head over to the Getty Images website (LINK:
http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/Search/Search.aspx?contractUrl=2&language=en-GB&fam\
ily=editorial&assetType=image&p=jay%20kay&src=standard ), search for Jay Kay and
you'll find a few photos from this past weekend and other recent sightings of
the space cowboy...
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

5# Jamiroquai bass player Paul Turner is interviewed in the August 2009 issue
of Bass Guitar Magazine (UK) and also features in the the July 2009 issue in an
artlcle about being a studio musician.
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

6# Jamiroquai's Canned Heat has been chosen as the song used in an event being
held at London's Southbank Centre on 30 August in an event called DanceMob.

"In preparation for Big Dance 2010, the London Mayor's initiative to get
London dancing, Southbank Centre continues its programme of free dance for
everyone this summer with DanceMob.

DanceMob; a fun and easy to learn dance routine, is taught to people of all
generations across London, who then descend on Southbank Centre to transform all
the indoor and outdoor spaces into a stage for dance, with you as one of the
performers."

A special dance routine choreographed for this event uses Canned Heat and a
number of videos showing how to perform the dance can be found at the Soutbank
Centre's YouTube channel (LINK: http://www.youtube.com/user/SouthbankCentre ).
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

7# And finally, a fellow Jamirotalker and "Blow Your Mind" Jamiroquai Portugal
Forum postter 'JamiroMan' caught Rob Harris on Facebook one day and asked him a
few questions concerning the state of Jamiroquai, the new album and much more.
You can read some highlights from the interview at the Jamiroquai Portugal Fan

There you go, all the blurbs for now, hope they are at least a smidgen of a
good read. By the way, I got a bright shiny and new laptop computer, mostly to
keep me abreast of the latest happenings with my favorite bands and so forth, so
if something happens, you'll be sure enough to see an update! Thanks for
reading and see you soon with more news! Cheers!

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

We have all, for the latter half of this week/weekend have been jarred to the
floor about unexpected passing of the King Of Pop Michael Jackson, I know I
have. JK of Jamiroquai briefly left his uplifting thoughts about Michael on the
Official Site, here is what he said:

Jay Kay has released a short statement following the untimely death of Michael
Jackson.

"A tragic loss, he was only ten years older than me. I was hugely influenced by
"Off The Wall" particularly. He will always be remembered for that level of
brilliance which will doubtless never be replicated again. It's very sad news."
Jay Kay

All music fans, regardless of genre, should definitely be feeling like a
"void" in their musical heart has gone with Jackson's passing. But the most
endearing thought we must keep is that Michael made "legendary, groundbreaking
and redefinitonary" music that continues to try the test of time. He will be
SORELY missed and my and all music fan's condolences are passed onto the Jackson
Family, his former wife Debbie Rowe and his 3 children. RIP King Of Pop...see
you soon with more news. Cheers and Peace!

Jamiroquai, fellow Jamirotalker Russky, whom attended it, got some more new

posted on JamiroTalk:

sorry to confuse everyone again but when Derrick introduced himself & Sola at
Drummer Live yesterday he mentioned his time in the band and that they were
working on a new album. He then said it would be released at the end of the year
or early next year meaning the new single would be hopefully November

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

The fullbore heat of Summer 2009 is upon us! Anyway, here's a quick blurb:

1# As previously reported, some fans received an "update" on the current state
of Jamiroquai's recording of their new album. Fellow JamiroTalker Dyego was
gracious enough to post the complete text of the e-mail on Jamirotalk, here is
the text for those whom didn't get the e-mail OR haven't read it:

   Hi everyone,

The sun is starting to shine and the good vibes are starting to flow again. But
check the TV news and it feels like the end of the world is just around the
corner. Remember Emergency On Planet Earth? OK, not gonna say, "Told you so",
but…..

Well, I'm sure you don't need us to tell you about epidemics, economic
meltdown & collapsing world trade – so, how about some positive news for once?

Well, how about a story about a dog getting rescued from a manhole?

Or, if that doesn't cheer you up, how about watching a parrot with some great
dance moves – YouTube

And if neither of those cheer you up, how about the news that Jamiroquai are now
back in the studio, recording a new album! Jay is really pleased with the way
the album is shaping up and we should hopefully hear the first tracks soon.

So, keep smiling, keep dancing, and we'll bring you more news as it happens!

   * Massive Thanks to Dyego on JamiroTalk.net for sharing this *

Will post again soon when the new material previews begin, hopefully soon! I
mean, jeez, I didn't even get this e-mail! Anyway, thanks for reading and see
you soon with the latest!

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

Again, I apologize and thank you all for your patience for the long times
between my updates on the group. Here's the latest:

1# According to fellow Jamirotalker Dyego, we fans might just be hearing some
new Jamiroquai soon based on a e-mail he received from the Official Site. Will
post more when I find it.

2# The Sunday Times newspaper (UK) published their 2009 'Rich List' this past
weekend - a list of the richest people in Britain and Ireland. In this years
overall list Jay is in position 1550 with an estimated worth of £35 million
pounds. In 2008 Jay was listed in position 1794 and valued at £40 million
pounds (by an 'expert' from the newspaper).

Additionally for 2009 this amount puts him in position 46 in the list of 'The
top 50 music millionaires'. Jay sits in position 46 alongside four others,
including Kylie Minogue and Ronnie Wood.

"Kay is regarded as shrewd operator, building two studios for £1m and
leasing them to Sony, so his profit margin is higher. He collects Ferraris and
lives in a Buckinghamshire mansion. His company Jamiroquai last showed £8.59m
net assets, which included £1.2m for his cherished cars. But with the lack of
activity, our rock expert cuts Kay back to £35m."

The Rich List and more information about how it created can be found online at
the Times website (Link: http://tinyurl.com/5jdr88 ) .
   * Special Thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

3# According to GuitarGearHeads.com, Jamiroquai guitarist Rob Harris will be
one of the judges in this popular guitar contest when it reaches its conclusion
on 13 June.

"Guitar Idol 2009 has seen over a thousand of the top undiscovered
guitarists from all over the world battle their way through four online heats -
the Final Heat proving amazingly popular with an average of well over 9000 daily
visits and media coverage on national TV in the USA, Hungary, Chile, Romania and
Pakistan amongst others."

"Make sure you check out the live final when 12 finalists will be performing
live on the main stage at The London International Music Show on Saturday June
13th. Judges include Phil Hilborne, Jamie Humphries and Jamiroquai's Rob
Harris."

More information can be found at GuitarIdol.tv.
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

4# According to the Metro newspaper (UK), Jamiroquai percussionist Sola
Akingbola is one of the performers on a new album by Chicago based artists the
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. The band currently have a number of gigs planned in
Europe over the coming weeks, so I guess Sola will be out performing with them
on some of these gigs...

Subject: Malaysian Articles With Further JK New Albums Notes & More!

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

I know, been away for a little while, here's the latest:

1# Here are 2 newsitems pertaining to upcoming Malaysian Jami Gig:

   - The Star website (Malaysa) has published an article (LINK:
http://tinyurl.com/cw7jrx ) in advance of Jamiroquai's concert being held after
the Malaysian Grand Prix race this coming Sunday. There are a number of quotes
from Jay in the article, such as...

"It's going to be good ... we're going to roll it out. Apart from this show
and the one in Indonesia after this, these will be our last shows before we head
back to complete our upcoming album."

The article also quotes Jay talking about plans for a world tour, which they
report is expected to start in early 2010.

   - In another piece of Malaysian press in advance of this weekends Grand Prix
concert Jay makes a couple of comments about the upcoming album...

"This is going to be a fresh start for the band, with a slightly different
sound. Now we are going back to the older style, with a lot of brass in it ...
not necessarily retro. It's difficult to change your style. Besides, I think the
style comes from the voice. But this is certainly something we are looking
forward to....It's difficult because you do what you want to do but you also
have a huge fan base who likes the first album, in which there is more of an
organic, live feel. And there are also people who like the fourth and fifth
albums, which are more electronic and programmed."

Read the full article at the Star online website (LINK:
http://tinyurl.com/cojesg ).

   - The organisers of next weeks Jamiroquai concert in Indonesia held a press
conference earlier this week and jazzuality.com was there to get some
information about the upcoming gig.

In addition to telling the world the middle names of all the bandmembers,
Sola Akingbola's name is not mentioned - but instead the name of William Fry is
given. Will has performed alongside Sola in the past and there is a photo of
Will(iam) at Sola's website.

Will can be found on MySpace at www.myspace.com/willfrymusic .
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for these @ http://funkin.com *

2# In more further new album/new label notes, this time on JamiroTalk.net:

    - JamiroTalker Tlum notes that in the Star Online Article that it appears
Jamiroquai has signed/been relinquished down to the Columbia Records imprint.

    - Also JamiroTalker Dyego found another new Malaysian Article, from the
JakartaGlobe, that Jamiroquai is still working on a new album and the release
date is NOW for "Mid Summer 2009".

ARTICLE LINK: http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/life-times/article/15207.html
   * Massive thanks to Tlum & Dyego on JamiroTalk.net for these finds *

Hmmm..I like the hints of more brass and it being more "organic"
sounding...but maaaannn, couldn't they just play one little snippet of the new
material at the upcoming gigs? Anyhoo, will keep my eye out for more when it
becomes available! Thanks for reading and see you soon with more news! Cheers!

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

   Here's a quick blurb:

1#: In Wednesday's Metro newspaper (UK), the following was written in the
'celebrity gossip' column...

"Jay Kay is back on the music scene. 'I've finished a new album and I'm
very happy with it - I'd say it's my best yet,' he admits."

Remember not to believe everything you read in the papers (especially some
of the UK ones!), but it does sound promising...
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

Hmmm...so possibly the new album is in the can, maybe new material will be

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

Economic Crisis has hit home for me, been laid off, don't worry, I'm
managing! Anyway, here is the latest:

1# Julian Perretta, an artist that Jamiroquai musicians Rob Harris
and Matt Johnson are working with has just been ranked at number #3 in
the "MTV UK Spanking New Artists for 2009" list.

He gives an interview at the MTV website where he talks about how he
got together with Rob and Matt....

Who has worked on your debut album with you?

I've written the record with two guys who were in Jamiroquai -
Matt Johnson and Rob Harris. Someone will come in with a riff and
we'll build it from there.

How did you start working with them?

I left school at 16 and went to a drama school and got really
obsessed with Jamiroquai. I looked for them on MySpace and they got
back me.

I went over to one of their houses and wrote a song. Since then
we've done the whole album together- I signed a record deal two years
after I met them.

You can read the full interview over at the MTV website or visit
myspace.com/julianperrettamusic .

2# According to the Krakow Events website, Sola Akingbola will be
performing at an International Percussion Festival at the Manggha
Museum in Poland on 19 February.

"One of Krakow's sleekest venues plays host to the second
installment of the International Percussion Festival. Today you can
step into the wondrous world of the gamelan, Indonesia's ancient
percussive tradition. Also in store is long-time Jamiroquai
collaborator Sola Akingbola, whose recent solo album Routes to roots
lets rip with Nigerian drumbeats."

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

Just got off my "holidays layover", hope everyone had some great
holidays there and look fondly to the oncoming new year 2009 for new
Jamiroquai....and funny, according to the Chinese Calender, 2009 is
the YEAR OF THE OX....which is in relation with the Buffalo...so there
is good karma! Here's the latest, from me, heard from my Sony
Contact, please be aware, this is just heresay/rumour:

     - Talked to my contact at Sony, whom still keeps in touch with
Jami management, and he agrees with me, a new Jami single around
Feb/March 2009 is highly possible....althought most likely as an
exclusive pay download, either through their Official Site OR one of
the popular paydownload services, Itunes at the top of the list.

There you go, just a little something to get all our imaginations
flowing on what the next move by Jamiroquai will be. Thanks for
joining and see you soon with more news! Cheers!

More information about Universal Music UK can be found at

2# Jamiroquai keyboard player Matt Johnson has posted a message to
his MySpace blog giving an update on what he has been working on
recently. Here are a couple of things that he talks about...

"It's been a mad busy year for me making what is going to be a
monstrously good new album with Jamiroquai... I'm really looking
forward to touring the new album with Jay and the chaps next year, I
really think it's going to be a special album..."

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

Hope everyone in the states had a nice and slumbersomelike
Thanksgiving holiday weekend, mine was great, complete with a
cranberry sauce moustache! Here's the latest:

1# On 22nd November Jay Kay and Sola Akingbola were in Hong Kong to
perform for the Dragon-I sixth anniversary party.

Five songs were performed (Jay singing over a backing track),
including Cosmic Girl, Love Foolosphy, Little L and Canned Heat.

J was headbutted in the face by him. You can view the video here:

difficulty downloading CosmicMouse's Hamburg Audi live videos, so I
uploaded them on my Multiply site. If you have any trouble, download
them at my Multiply here:

Also, in regards to upcoming Jamiroquai Hong Kong thing coming, here
is the info about that, apparently, just a JK appearance, thanks to
Funkin Site for finding this out:

It was recently reported that the band would be performing in Hong
Kong later this year although (as we're almost at the end of the
year!) no news had appeared. Well, it seems like there isn't an
actual concert (thanks to the jamirotalk.net review of one of the
recent Audi gigs in Germany), but more an appearance by Jay.

The Dragon-I club in Hong Kong has Jamiroquai listed to perform
there on 22 November for their 6th anniversary. I'm guessing they
just mean Jay because on the Lifestyle Hong Kong website they say...
"Jamiroquai & Danny Rampling. The duo comes to HK to celebrate
Dragon-I's 6th birthday." For information, Danny Rampling is a famous
dance music DJ.

COSMICMOUSE HAMBURG AUDI Q5 LAUNCH LIVE JAMI REVIEW:

When I read yesterday that Nicki had massive problems to come close to
the venue in Frankfurt, I decided to go early in order to check the
situation.
I arrived at 4.30 pm and was a bit confused because I could park my
car just next to the entrance. Shocked I went in and nobody asked me
who I am. There were many busy people, preparing the hall for the
event, catering, the stages, the cars... I thought: wow, I could just
go to the toilet and hide and wait until the event starts. Nobody
would notice! Or I could just start helping cleaning the cars and
stuff... haha!! But then I decided to go the legal way and told them
who I am and that I should be on the guestlist of the musicians. (Days
before when I asked Derrick, he said it would be ok, he will get me
in, but somehow I had problems to get in touch with him in the last
days, so I wasn't sure if he'd remember!)
As they didn't have any guestlist yet, some of the organizers called
another responsible person who was with the band at that moment (in
the hotel). She checked back with Derrick and called back, so
everything was cleared up. The guy said he would put me on the
guestlist then. good

As I had such a good parking place and didn't want to go away anymore,
I just stayed and watched the busy people, preparing everything. I
already saw the final rehearsal for the audi presentation - several
times. This was all interesting to observe.
Then finally at 6.30 pm they let the first people in. We got some very
yummy fingerfood and drinks - all for free. And then the presentation
started. After a while I decided to go and look if the boys were
already there. To my surprise I could just go backstage without anyone
holding me back. I saw where the dressing rooms and the toilets for
the VIPs were and then met the lady who was with the band before when
we called for confirmation some hours before. I think she was
something like a personal assistant for the band during their tour in
Germany. She was very nice and said she will look out for Derrick to
tell him that I am there now. She said then, that I should wait for 15
minutes because they were just having dinner.
So I waited next to Jay's room, who did arrive after some minutes,
said shortly "hello" and dissapeared in his room, closed the doors and
after a minute I heard him warming up his voice! Very Happy Very cool!
I shortly saw Matt and then Derrick. We just hugged and said hello,
then I went back to the stage in order to safe a good place because
the gig should have started in 10 minutes.

Funny thing: I was the first person to stand in the front of the
stage. I took a pic of the setlist and started getting excited! offwall
About 10 photographers joined me in front of Jay's microphone. They
promised to go away after two songs. But it was cool anyways - they
didn't stand in front of me, but next to me.

Jamiroquai were coming on stage - I still was the only "normal" person
in front of the stage - besides the photographers. All other people
were still sitting at their tables more in the back. The moderator
came and asked the people to stand up and come closer!! So weird.
Someone has to come and get the people to the front... LOL

During the gig, when the photographers have left, I really had the
first 3 rows for myself. So much space to dance!! somersault

But the audience was still in a good mood. They just prefered standing
one meter behind me.
The atmosphere was so good that Jay decided to play one more song.
Actually 6 songs were planned, but he said he will treat us with one
more song after Travelling. While Jay was asking the boys if they
wanna do Seven Days, and me starting to ask for Mr.Moon, Stillness in
Time and Blow your mind, Matt started to play a view chords on the
keys, Jay said to him: "Haha, nono, we won't play anything from the
new album, Matt!!"

Shocked Damn, they should have done!!! But then they started with
Canned Heat which was great anyways.

Jay was mentioning between two songs that he had one tear in his eye
when he was seeing the result of the election of Obama. He also said
two times: YES WE CAN! good

About the songs... well, they did not too long versions of the songs,
but still nice versions with some little details I haven't heard yet.
But you can listen yourself because I have recorded a few of them. I
tried to find a balance of having a good time, dancing and singing -
and getting some recordings for you guys. I sometimes filmed, but it
was a bit strange to stand with a camera just before Jay, filming all
the time, so I often put the camera down on the stage, between the
monitor speakers, so that's why you sometimes just see Jays feet. I
hope you don't mind. I thought the most important thing is the music.

I recorded: Alright, Love Fool (but I only started a bit later, after
the slow part was done), Travelling - I had to change batteries during
this one, so it is unfotunately in 2 parts.
I am not sure if I also recorded BCD... cannot remember right now.
I will upload the clips later.

So, last song was Deeper Underground - well, not my favourite, but the
audience enjoyed it.
At the end Jay introduced the bandmembers and then they left the stage.
By the way, there were no backing singers - Sola did the second voice
in some songs and I couldn't resist to take over the girls' part in
some songs... Laughing

While the crew started to remove the instruments from the stage, the
press and photographers were starting to prepare and gather in front
of one of the Audi Q5s. I thought, that they expected Jay to come out
again for a shooting, and I was right. After a while Jay appeared and
was posing in front of a white Audi Q5.
He also did a little interview, but the music in the back was so loud
that I couldn't understand what he was saying. I recorded a part of it
too, maybe some of you can read lips??? Laughing

I met a really nice guy who wanted to have a pic with Jay. I found out
that he is a jamiroquai fan and he was surprised to know that I am the
Jamirotalk mum - he knows the forum I and invited him to register and
post his picture and join us here! He promised he would! Very Happy

After a while Jay dissapeard backstage again and now they were posing
a security guy at the backstage entrance. I had no chance to follow
this time.

I decided to get a drink. I got an "Offroad" Cocktail (non alcoholic,
because I had to drive back home later on) and suddenly met Rob and
Paul. We said hello, talked a little and then they went on to get a
drink as well. I walked around, lurking for Derrick when suddenly Matt
was standing in front of me. Very nice! I had never really talked that
much with Matt in the past - but this time we had a nice chat. We were
talking about the new album, about the next tour, about the next gigs
in Germany and Korea. He confirmed everything we have been reading in
recent german articles: The album might come out in the summer - maybe
June. Then they will do several festivals in the summer and he guessed
that the new album tour will start at the end of the year.
He said the album will have great songs! Very different to the last
album but he seemed to be very happy with the songs so far. I said
that some of us had already been listening to a few songs in Ahaus, he
then explained: Yes, but we overworked them completely meanwhile -
they sound very different now, he said.
They have about 25 songs from which they have to choose now.
He said this time they are having many more songs made then for the
previous albums. That's different this time.

When I asked if they have a record company now, he said: yes, I think
so, but I cannot really talk about it. But yes, it's a big one - the
album will be pressed on CDs. You guys will get real CDs and won't
have to download the songs. Wink

Oh, and the thing in Hongkong is not a gig - it's just Jay Kay doing
something there - Matt, didn't know what exactly. So, no gig in HongKong.

After a short visit to the toilet, I met Paul again and asked him if
he knows where Derrick and Sola are. He said, that he saw Sola
somewhere, but didn't know where Derrick was - proably behind the
stage in the backstage area. I said that I couldn't go there because
of the security guy. He offered to take me with him - because he has a
backstage pass (of course). Ok, we arrived at the guy and as he looked
kinda skeptically Paul showed his pass and asked if I he could take me
with him backstage. The guy said: YOU can go, but not her. Neutral

Ok, well... Paul suggested that he will go alone and search Derrick
for me. He is such a sweetheart!! stoned

After 2 minutes Derrick came, took his arm around me and said to the
security guy: Oh, it's alright - she is my guest, she can come with me!
And we went in. The guy was like... mutant ...err.... ok...

When Paul saw me backstage he said: "Huh??? How did you get in?" And
we told him that it was no problem together with Derrick. You should
have seen Pauls face: "What am I doing wrong?????!!!!" 2biting LOL Too
funny!!

Then we had some drinks in their room, talking, showing pics from our
kids... very nice conversations. They were all there, except Jay who
was in the room next to us. I saw him at some point and waved, but I
stuck to the other boys. Around midnight they had to pack their stuff
and go to the hotel. I could have gone with them for another drink but
decided to drive home - a 2 hours drive - as I knew I would have to
get up at 6 am. Rolling Eyes
Maybe the wrong decision, but I was glad that I arrived home safe
because the last hour of driving I was really really tired and had
difficulties to keep my eyes open.

For me, it was a great night - a way too short gig of course - planned
was 30 minutes but we ended up with 45 minutes I think, and no
Jamily... but I was thinking of you and tried to bring some good
memories with me for you.. I will upload the videos soon!

Nicki and Suzie... when you go really early you shouldn't have a
problem to get in... I heard about a girl who made it to the Festhalle
in Frankfurt because she came very early. Her name is Julia and she
called me yesterday. She will register here soon, as well. Very Happy

Yeah, that's it. Very Happy I am still tired - only slept 3 hours. But
I am having a smile on my face. Very Happy

and dear friend CosmicMouse uncovered in a new article that Jami is
playing ALL of Audi's launch events in Germany from as recent as Oct.
30th to a few more in November. Here's a list of the gigs:

Munich - 30. October 2008
Berlin - 01. November 2008
Frankfurt - 04. November 2008
Hamburg - 05. November 2008
Stuttgart - 07. November 2008
Duesseldorf - 08. November 2008

Mind you, these are ALL PRIVATE GIGS, so pretty much fans will
have a hard time getting into these gigs. If any fans get in these
gigs, will report back when I can!
   * Massive thanks to CosmicMouse on JamiroTalk.net for this info *

2# In a supplementary note, some more German articles about the
recent Jamiroquai Audi gigs have come online and some new album
details have come out:

   - The new album is slated for a May/June 2009 release
   - The tour for the new album will start at the end of 2009
   - Jay is going to sign contracts (with a record label?) soon - but
Jay didn't want to tell with which one.
There will be two gigs in Korea and Hongkong.
   * Massive thanks to CosmicMouse on JamiroTalk.net for this info *

There you go, all the info for now! If anything materialized
during the upcoming Audi/Asian gigs, will post about it further at the
right time! Cheers and thanks for reading!

Hello JAMIROQUAI Club Members,

Yep, the end of the lazy days of Summer 2008 are upon us, and most
notably me since I haven't updated much on the Group. But fortunately
, got some good stuff to report:

1# Jamiroquai drummer Derrick McKenzie has at long last opened the
doors to his own website at derrickmckenzie.com.

The site contains news, a great biography, photographs, music and
video clips and a guestbook.

"OK so lately I have been working on the new Jamiroquai album
since January this year we managed to get 25 new tracks written and
recorded to a demo stage so far this year, I can assure you that out
of that lot we will only use 3 or even 5 out of them. Fortunately for
Jay he has the fantastic task of wondering which tracks are gonna cut
the mustard or just be a complete disaster ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!"

Check out the rest of his site at derrickmckenzie.com, leave a
message and get in contact with this superb drummer.
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

2# Television channel BBC Two has just started broadcasting a new
series called "Charley Boorman: Ireland to Sydney...", where presenter
Charley Boorman travels on a motorbike across three continents, 25
countries and over 20,000 miles from Ireland to Australia.

Well, the interesting thing is that Jamiroquai perform the theme
tune to this new show. If you're in the UK you can watch the show on
BBC iPlayer (LINK: http://tinyurl.com/6gxsrk).

In a supplementary note, once I find an audio rip of this new show
theme, will post a download link to it on the Group!

   - At the end of the gig, Meike (CosmicMouse) and other fans, whom
had gotten backstage passes from Nude Continuum got to schmooze with
the band and talk with J and the band. And as a special treat, Meike
and the others actually got to hear 3 new Jami demos that J had on a
CD. The funny thing is that they hunted around for a car with a CD
player and got to listen to these gems. Here's Meike's take on what
was heard:

After the Jamiroquai gig Sandra and me were going to the backstage
entrance, because we got VIP passes from Nude Continuum.
We felt a bit bad to leave the Jamily.. but well, this is a great
opportunity so we also didn't want to miss this chance.. so we went
and as I saw Derrick on the corner I asked if we can bring in Suzanna
and Nicki. He did it!! Yay!! We went to the backstage area and met the
Nudies again, then Paul, Rob, Derrick, Matt... Sola was the only one
we have missed.
One by one more of the jamily came backstage which was so so great!!!
More and more came backstage... just amazing!! I guess we were nearly
20 jamily members backstage.. not sure, because I didn't count.
We chatted with the band, made photos ect.
After a while Jay came out of his room. He said that he has been
really proud of us tonight. I asked him if he realised that we were
about 30 people from jamirotalk in the frontrow from about 12
different countries. And he said: "Yes!! I do know that and I
appreciate that you are coming from so far to our gigs!!" After some
chatting he said: "You know what, I will show you one song of the new
album! I just need a cd player!"
He was running around, trying to find a way to show us the song.. the
whole jamily sneaking after him...haha!! Too funny!! LOL

Then we went outside to the truck and there was that mercedes.
I made it into the car and we were listening to parts of 3 songs!!
Very very special moment!!! Jay way very proud to present us the
tunes. They were very raw demos.. he was sometimes singing along to
instrumental parts, then he said: here we will add some brass... It
was so great!
He said that he appreciates so much our support and that's why he was
showing us the tunes. He said: Once, when the album comes out you can
say: Ah, I know this!! Very Happy

About the songs: they sound different... very surprising, catchy.. but
I couldn't really describe it. One song was called: "I could see you
dancing"
Also, the songs were not ready. They surely will sound different on
the album.

It was lovely to see how proud he was about the stuff. He enjoyed to
present it to us.

Jay was in a really thankful mood. He often expressed this, also
during the concert!

After that he said goodbye to all of us with loads of hugs!
   * Massive thanks to Meike from JamiroTalk for this *

   - And finally, upon reflection from Fans on Talk, they could
remember the names of 2 of the 3 new Jami demos they heard in that
cramped car (LINK: *Picture of Meike, FunkyNicki & Others in the car
listening to the Demos * :
http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m25/nicki020572/IMGP1329.jpg ):

     I Could See You Dancing
That's Not The Funk I Want

   - I must not, none of the fans recorded, video or audiowise, these
demos as they were heard in the car, in respect to JK/the band and
themselves since they were given this honor to hear the new stuff.

    Now, to the latest news:

1# This summer on MTV (UK) they are looking into the archives to
define the greatest music video ever made. Experts from MTV TWO, MTV
BASE and VH1 have already set out their opinions on the Top 100 videos
in their respective genres and Jamiroquai's Virtual Insanity has been
nominated in VH1's Greatest Video Ever Top 10.

The combined MTV TWO, BASE and VH1 Top 10s have now been given
to the public to vote at www.mtv.co.uk/music. It will also be
possible to vote in-store at HMV stores nationwide.

Voting closes at midnight on 14 September and the ultimate Top
10 Greatest Videos Ever will be revealed on Sunday 21 September at 7pm
across MTV (UK) channels.
   * Special thanks to the Funkin Site for this @ http://funkin.com *

There you go, a very blurring past weekend for Jamiroquai/Nude
Continuum and the Jamily! But MASSIVE thanks to everyone on
JamiroTalk.net for all their GREAT live pictures/live videos and
detailed fan reviews! See you soon with more news! Cheers!
