Re: FW: UK: Musicians' Union Issues Musical Challenge
Hi all,
Same with me - I have several CDs by Yo Yo Ma and
was really looking forward to their performance.
BTW, the BBC comentators talked right through the
begining of the music and also over some immportant
parts of the whole event. There were over two thousand
complaints to the BBC about their lousy coverage, all asking
why the presenters could not simply shut up for a
while. The BBC`s response was their usual bull-headed
defiance. They were exactly the same over Clinton`s
speech - actually fading part of it out and during
the Australian Olympic ceremony the music was spoiled
by some drivel being spoken over it all.
The BBC are NOT the truthful reliable news media that
they seem, if something is not to a producer`s
politics it simply gets left out. There are a lot of
very left-wing people who have wormed their way into
positions of influence - I could go on but I am getting
a bit off-topic.

Perhaps it would do these "world-famous virtousi" some good to play in ordinary places. Then they might develop some sense of pride and honour. It is obvious...

Hi Will, ... Agreed. The question seems to me to be about whose decision it was. And if it was an outside decision, did the musicians have no say in the...

Well, of course, we have no way of knowing if those "valuable instruments" were, in fact, their own or were perhaps provided for the taping. Four world-class...
