For those who are not aware, we would like to break this sad news.
Chicago bassist Eldee Young, 71, passed away on Tue 13 Feb morning in his hotel room in Bangkok. He was playing at the hotel since Nov 2006. The cause of his death was not known. However, he had a hernia operation two weeks earlier.
Eldee was with the Grammy winner, Ramsey Lewis Trio, and had also worked with James Moody, Dinah Washington and Dizzy Gillespie.
While in Singapore, he was often seen with Singapore's Jeremy Monteiro. It was certainly an honour for us to have such an accomplished musician with us.
His body would be sent to Chicago.
