Week 1 - Thomson Swing Band
Thomson Swing Band is the second of the three big bands at the Thomson Jazz Club. The members of the band are a varied bunch, being of all ages and coming from different parts of the world. What brings them together is their love for playing jazz. Their obvious delight in performing has won them a reputation for being a very entertaining band.

Week 2 - Singapore Jazz Orchestra
The "Singapore Jazz Orchestra" is an 18-piece large ensemble and they are uniquely made up of flautists, clarinet, French-horns, trombones and saxophone players as well as a full rhythm section. Their style of music comprises swing, Latin and even the deep end of jazz, bebop and their repertoire combines both instrumental, vocal jazz standards and originals.

Although young, the Singapore Jazz Orchestra has successfully staged its own concert at the Arts House in September 2005 and a public concert at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre in December of 2005. Also, it is the orchestra-in-residence of Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts.

Week 3 - Rostrevor College (Jazz Ensemble from Australia)
Rostrevor College is a private all boys, day and boarding school. Its Junior, Middle and Senior Schools share the same 16 hectare campus situated in the foothills of the Mount Lofty Ranges in South Australia. Rostrevor has a fine tradition of producing leaders in academic, musical, cultural and sporting spheres.

Music is a feature of the Rostrevor curriculum, and has a comprehensive programme of musical activities, both curricular and co-curricular. The College Music Department supports tuition in a full range of vocal and instrumental music and encourages students to perform publicly.

Rostrevor's bands are highly regarded and sought after. Students regularly perform with renowned musicians such as James Morrison, Don Burrows, Tommy Emmanuel, Paul Kelly, Brian Cadd, Glen Shorrock and Ross Wilson.

Week 4 - SIA Jazz Band
Mr Johnson Lee, the conductor of the SIA Band is a local composer, arranger and saxophonist. The Band was formed in 1978. The members consist of the permanent staff from the various arms of the Singapore Airlines Group. Family and Friends who have passion for musical performance are also welcome to join the band.

The Band was initially mooted as a marching band participating in many international parades and was later developed into a Symphonic band. However with new dimensions add-on, SIA band is now developed and equipped with stage band capabilities performing lively jazz and easy listening pop music with singers.

Jazz by the Beach allows the SIA Jazz Band an opportunity to show case their talents for the public. It is also part of SIA efforts to contribute to the community through Arts.
