NAC-ExxonMobil Concert-In-The-Park
Sunday 8 March 2009 4.00 – 6.30pm (concert starts at 5.00pm) Singapore Botanic Gardens, Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage Free Admission!
Singapore Botanic Gardens will vibrate to the sounds of two international music acts of different musical genres. Enjoy the sounds of a unique combination of folk funk jazz frenzy in an R&B reggae style with Australia’s “Totally Gourdgeous” and chill in the gardens with Mexico’s top contemporary jazz trio, “SACBE”, as they mix all kinds of music influences that span African, Asian, Brazilian and Mexican music as well as rock and jazz. Collaborating with SACBE is Anne Weerapass, who has worked with top international stars such as Britain’s Ronan Keating and Philippine’s Regine Valesquez.
This programme also includes fringe activities and the very popular online photography competition. Bring a camera, bring a chair, bring a mat, bring a hat, bring your shades and bring your family for a jolly good time. This family concert-in-the-park will leave you in awe as you tap, sway, jig and shake to the music of these international performers.
This event is organised by National Arts Council, sponsored by ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd and supported by National Parks Board and Embassy Of Mexico

Totally Gourgeous
(Australia) |
The Australian group debut in Singapore with its toe-tapping and grooving music played with a mix of conventional instruments and self-made vegetable gourds. Imagine Joni Mitchell and James Brown getting down in Bob Marley's pumpkin patch via the Muppets performing with an infectious eclectic beauty in the gourdiest of costumes. |
