I really love all of Bach's works. It is hard for me to believe
that these great works were done by one genius man. Whenever I'm
listening to Bach's fugues or contrapuntal works my Mom tells me to
shut it off she can't stand it. I think to listen to Bach is to have
and open and willing mind to take in many voices and twists and turns
in Baroque works such as Bach's.
Today, When I turn I my television set I see rap artist's talking
about drug's, sex and everything in between, and it disappoints me to
see and hear all that garbage (and it is hard to avoid it). The total
simplicity of these corny love songs disgusts me.
I am not saying all modern music is bad, it just doesn't do for
me what Bach's music's does for me. Today's music is music you can
listen to with any state of mind, but Bach's work's go much deeper
then any works today. I mean Bach isn't something you can't blast out
of your car when your driving down the highway, you would be shot.
After listening to much of Today's music and classical and
Baroque works, I have learned Bach's genius is on that will never be
matched again. After all in today's world image matters more then
music it will be hard to match Bach when all the artists do is show
off their bodys and pull publicity stunts. Musicians today just don't
having the training and genius that Bach did.
I will admit that genius comes in many shapes and forms. There
are good artists today who are geniuses in their own way, But Britney
spears shaking her body up on stage singing "Oops I Did Again" just
doesn't cut it for me (although it is quite amusing when you press
the mute button). Now I hope I haven't made anyone mad with my
views, But I think this being a Bach's lovers club some of you will
agree with my thinking. Thanks for you time and Enjoy Bach's genius.
