Hi, all. I'm still on an Echoes high. Sigh, so many flutes, so many
positive, encouraging people, so much soul-feeding music.
I got this in my email today from Chante Ishta, and with her
permission, am sharing it here, so we can all relive Echoes on the
airwaves together!

Hey Everybody!!! I just returned from a glorious time last weekend in
Ft. Walton Beach at Florida's own Musical Echoes, one of the largest
annual Native American flute gatherings in the United States, where I
was an emcee for the 3-day event, along with flutemaker Dusty Moore,
and I want to tell you a little bit about it.....
What an incredible time for all! The event featured so many wonderful
musicians including Mary Youngblood, Arvel Bird, Michael Searching
Bear and TJ Marlatt, Jeff Ball, Mark Holland and Autumn's Child,
Nation of Change, Raymond Red Feather, Jan Seiden, David Maracle,
Morgan Fawcett, and Ed Winddancer. Billy Whitefox, our Florida State
Commissioner and NAMMY winner, and, Jonny Lipford, our youngest
performer and awesome flutist, also gave an incredible
performances!! Also, there were some of the most incredible
flutemakers in the world there selling some mighty fine flutes, as
well as, a host of other wonderful vendors. The weekend was packed
with people coming out to enjoy the music and share smiles with each
other. WOW!!! What a great time....if you weren't able to attend this
year, I sure hope you will mark your calendar now to be a part of the
fun next year!
Tomorrow night, Sunday May 4th, on TWO WORLDS, your all Native
American radio show on WMNF 88.5 FM here in Tampa, or www.wmnf.org
worldwide, I will be presenting a very special show honoring the
music of Musical Echoes. If you love the music of the Native American
flute, then this is a show you definitely do not want to miss!! We
will be dedicating the whole show tomorrow night to the flute and
will feature the music of all the artists who were featured guests at
Musical Echoes, along with some of the independent flutemaker/players
that offered me their own CDs while I was at the event.
And as if that wasn't enough, we will also spend a few minutes
talking with two time GRAMMY award winning flutist Mary Youngblood,
who has graciously offered to come on the air with us for a short
interview from her home in California! Mary has some very exciting
news to share with us, and I am sure she will have lots of great
things to say about Musical Echoes.
So be sure to tune in tomorrow night, Sunday May 4th, from 9-11pm EST
for the best of Native America on the best little radio station in
the world, WMNF 88.5 FM, for two hours of all Native American
music.....and do come on back every Sunday night cause there's always
something good going on on TWO WORLDS!
(and just in case you miss the show on Sunday night, or better yet,
if you want to hear it again and again, you can do so by visiting our
