For those that are interested!
(Before signing the below Petition, please realize that this
Petition is meant to get Journey to play a few more new songs in
their sets, along with the great Classics that are already played.
I've noticed that several of those that signed listed Classic Songs
under the section of the Petition that asks for the signer's New
Favorite Journey Songs.
If you don't know any of the new songs, please don't add anything to
that section. Any Classic song that is added will be deleted from
the Petition before it is sent to the band, on January 1, 2005.
Thanks to all of you that have decided to support this Petition and
this great band.
Also, this petition is not asking that Journey replace all of it's
great Classics, or even a majority, with new songs. All we want is
for the consistent addittion of at least 3 or 4 new songs per
setlist.
A Show that mixes a few new songs, without sacrificing all of the
Classics and even adding a few obscure Classics, is what we're
looking for.)
Please read and sign the Petition at the below link.

To: Journey
We, the undersigned, wish to convey the following message to one of
the Greatest Rock Bands of All-Time, Journey.
30 years ago, one of the true great bands in Rock & Roll History was
born. The year was 1973 and the band's name is Journey.
Throughout the years and through several incarnations, Journey's
perseverance and hard work took them to the pinnacle of the Rock
World.
Known for their high energy shows and top of the line musicianship
and lyrics that spoke to everyone's hearts, their appeal spread over
the Globe.
Classic songs such as 'Anyway You Want It', 'Don't Stop
Believin', 'Open Arms', 'Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin', 'Separate
Ways', 'Faithfully', 'Wheel In The Sky', 'Be Good To
Yourself', 'Lights' and many more, ruled the airwaves, from 1978 -
1988. Noone was bigger in the Rock World than this band and the
amazingly talented musicians that comprised the band.
Even after an almost 10 year hiatus, Journey returned in 1996 with
another Top Selling album, "Trial By Fire" and a Grammy Nominated
single, 'When You Love A Woman'. Unfortunately, popular Lead
Vocalist Steve Perry would develop a painful Hip ailment that would
once again cause him to be unable to go on with the band. So, in
1998, the band made the painful decision to go on with a new lineup
which consists of core members Neal Schon, Ross Valory and Jonathan
Cain, as well as newcomers Steve Augeri on vocals and Deen
Castronovo on drums.
Since 1998, the band has been touring constantly to enthusiastic
crowds and has released a full length CD, "Arrival", a Concert
DVD, "2001" and a 4 song EP, "Red 13", which feature some of the
best music they've ever made. However, due to lack of Promotion, the
advent of File Sharing Programs such as Napster, on the Internet and
the changing musical climate, this great music has yet to have been
heard by the masses. Only Journey's most hardcore fans realize just
how great this new music really is.
Unfortunately, this has caused Journey to stick to the more tried
and true Classics, in Concert, instead of previewing more newer
material. We, Journey's most loyal fans, believe this is a travesty
and that if the band were somehow able to consistently add a few
more new songs to their setlists, more of the casual fanbase would
be just as impressed as we are with the quality of these songs.
The band has already proven, after almost 6 years into this amazing
new lineup, that they have the heart, drive and drawing power to be
successful, even in a new musical climate. We want to see the band
succeed and we believe that the band has what it takes to not only
keep alive the spirit of the great Classics of the past, but to
continue introducing new music to the buying Public.
To sum it all up, we the undersigned, wish to convey to Journey our
undying loyalty and support and especially that we want them to take
a chance with introducing more new material into their shows. We
believe that once their fans begin hearing more of this great new
music, on a regular basis, that they will conclude just as we have,
that Journey is a band for the ages and that it's new music is just
as viable as anything they've done in the past.
Thanks for everything, guys!
Sincerely,
The Undersigned
