Soul Sirkus - Jeff Scott Soto, Deen Castronovo, Neal Schon & Marco Mendoza.

The quartet has been busy recording tracks for their debut album. 11 songs
have been written and recorded recently in San Francisco at Jonathan Cain's
studio, with the album to be shopped to potential labels soon.

Neal had heard of Jeff's reputation and the pair first jammed at LA's 2004
Winter NAMM Convention in Los Angeles. From there the pair quickly got working
collaborating on songs and the results will be heard on their debut album. Neal
Schon recently commented to me: "The new stuff is cool, melodic and has
plenty of edge. We are very much looking forward, to getting it out soon and
playing live.
I definitely feel we have the goods. It is sounding very cool to say the
least."

I have now heard several of the new Soul Sirkus tracks. And the news is all
good – I think fans of all concerned, plus melodic hard rock in general, will
be more than impressed with the end results.
A few comments on some of the tracks:
Coming Home – A classy mid-tempo AOR ballad with some outstanding soulful
vocals and slow guitar work and that classic Journey sound.
Highest Ground – An epic rocker, with a monster groove and tight rhythm
section. Will be popular with Talisman and Hardline fans.
Praise – A true boogie rocker with another snappy fast paced groove and some
outstanding guitar work. The chorus is classic Jeff and Neal is all over this
track.
Soul Goes On – An epic 6 minute plus slow and sultry soulful ballad featuring
some outstanding slow guitar soloing – classic Schon.
Periled Divide – A slow, dark and intense track with a hard edged guitar riff
in place. Definitely a touch of Hardline albeit, slower and darker.
Closed The Door – A sultry mid-tempo melodic rocker with a big nice solo.
In addition to 10 new tracks to be featured, the 11th track is a re-recording
of the Planet Us track Peephole. The band is working on a website, which you
will be able to find in time at: www.soulsirkus.com.
