The group "Journey" rocked the Wild West Arena Friday night in front of
thousands of fans packed in the arena on the clear and windy night.
The crowd cheered for the 1970s and '80s band as they played some of their hit
songs such as "Don't Stop Believing" and "Remember Me."
"Every single song they play is a hit," said Journey production manager Rocko.
"They are the nicest people because they are real people. They love to play
music."
Journey opened up with the playing of the "Star Spangled Banner" led by
guitarist Neal Schon as the crowd gave them a standing ovation.
"Journey was one of the groups that we wanted to get," said John Hales, head of
the Nebraskaland Days board of directors of concerts. "The response has been
excellent."
Journey was in Greeley, Colo., Thursday, so they could drive by bus to North
Platte.
"They like to play at these places," Rocko said. "They will play until they
die."
Loverboy got up on stage to prepare everyone for Journey.
The 1980s band "Loverboy" sang their songs such as "Turn Me Loose" and "Working
For The Weekend."
