Jimmy Trindade
Deep Trouble In The Deep Sea

For most people, boating off the coast of Florida is an exotic vacation. But for James "Jimmy T" Trindade, it was a way of life. Jimmy and his friends took regular deep sea fishing trips, and once a year, they threw a party in the Bahamas that some considered legendary. But on the morning of January 12, 2006, something went terribly wrong. Police say Jimmy started his trek back from his annual beach bash, but never made it home. More than 10 hours later, his 38-foot Donzi speedboat was found abandoned. Now, AMW is teaming up with investigators to help figure out exactly what happened to Jimmy T.

Jimmy's case took AMW's Sedg Tourison to some unfamiliar territory. Before working the story, Sedg had never set foot on a boat, and braving the unpredictable waters on his way to the island where Jimmy was last seen is an experience he won't soon forget. "I was literally holding on the whole time," Sedg says. "I couldn't believe how rocky it was."

In the past, Sedg has been a part of land-locked investigations all over the world, "but this was a floating crime scene," he says. "The boat holds all the clues to what happened."

On AMW.com, we've compiled some of the compelling evidence taken directly from the scene. Take a close look, then join Sedg and the rest of the AMW crew this Saturday night as we analyze some of the theories about what could've happened. With your help, we may finally be able solve the mystery of Jimmy T's disappearance.

U.S. Coast Guard Feature
U.S. Coast Guard: Breaking Records And Busting Bad Guys

The Coast Guard isn't always the first organization that comes to mind when it comes to law enforcement, but when they're not enforcing maritime law or executing Search and Rescue operations, the Coasties often find themselves on the front lines of the war on drugs. In 2007, previous records were shattered when the U.S. Coast Guard seized over 175 tons of cocaine before it made its way onto U.S. soil. That much dope could fetch up to $5 billion on the street.

AMW Senior Correspondent Tom Morris worked in counterterrorism overseas long before coming to America's Most Wanted, and he'll be the first to tell you that stopping drug runners from entering U.S. ports is no easy task. This week, he met with senior Coast Guard officials in San Diego to learn more about what they've done to be so successful.

"These guys don't get a lot of recognition," Tom says, "but they're incredibly organized with everything they do." While he was there, Tom even got the chance to fire the .50-caliber rifle that the Coast Guard uses to disable engines on drug boats. "It was a surprisingly smooth gun to fire," he says.

On this week's broadcast, Tom will take off the California coast for an inside look on how the Coast Guard operates. In the meantime, log on to AMW.com and check out surveillance video of some of the biggest drug hauls in U.S. history. The Coast Guard is constantly stepping up their game, and drug runners are countering with riskier tactics. But the results speak volumes: slowly but surely, even the slipperiest criminals on the high sea are running out of options.
