Kasey said that the song is about all the radio stations in Australia that
wouldn't play her songs but would play Britney Spears! This was when she put
out her first album, The Captain. She said the ironic thing was that this
was the song that finally got playing time when it was released as part of
Barricades and Brickwalls. She said people often think the song is about a
guy and a relationship and you can kind of read it both ways, but she wrote
it about the radio stations. It's kind of questioning but also kind of
defiant since she knows these are some of the reasons they don't play her
songs.
