Hi my name is Melinda i have been listening to Kasey
Chambers for awhile and have also got my friends
hooked on her and my family. I was glade i got to make
it to her concert down under in tasmania she was
excellant she was so good we where lucky she made it
as she told us she was pregant and she didnt think she
was gonna make it here but she was good i have both
her albumbs and like her new song not pretty enough
the one she won her award with but hopefully after her
baby she can come back and show them what she is made
of as i think she has a good carrer in front of her.
by the way i have read that book red desert sky good
book on how she was broght up so i recommended it to
any one that is a kasey chambers fan worth every cent
i think and hopeing to hear from other Kasey chambers
fans just email me.

From what i hear, shes ok and is headed back to australia

I was at the Bimbo's 365 show last night.  She was sitting and singing her
3rd song (after giving us all a lesson in Australia's geography and where
Nullabor is -- she was so sweet about it!) and just sort of slumped over.
Her Dad grabbed her and helped her with her guitar and laid her down.  In a
minuet or so she was able to get up and walked off stage, with her Dad's
arm around her, to a round of applause in support.  I knew she was
pregnant,  but I didn't realize she was 6 months along.  He came back and
said she just needed a little rest and should be able to come back. The
feeling in the crowed was that she shouldn't over do and she should take
care of herself and the wee one.  A few minuets after she went off stage
the show was canceled.

As I went to catch the bus home I was talking to some other fans and they
said that she was OK and was resting to make sure all was safe.  Although,
we were all shocked at the events it was agreed it was for the best for
her.  Personally, I'm glad that it was called off, I'm sure I'll have the
chance to hear her live in the future and she needs to take care of herself
in this special time in her life.  I must confess that I said a little
prayer for her health and the health of the baby.  Not much, but its all a
fan can do.

Does anyone know if she's OK this morning?

I agree, totally terrible she didn't get to make an appearance.
She definately deserves it....i did find a site, though, where they
have the mp3 of 'not pretty enough'  (i know theres lots) but this
one also has a contest where you can win something or other...i
think a copy of the new album.  have fun watching her tonight SF!!

I was mightily disappointed last night after staying up until 11:30 and
watching an entire hour of the Late, Late show just to see Kasey and then
they bumped her! What jerks! I guess they were just so thrilled to have Jon
Voight that they used up all their time. They said  they'll have her back
another time, but she won't be able to come back for a long time. I bet they
were disappointed. I know I was!!

Yeah, I know where I can get the book...It's on my list of things to buy as

I'm Andrea...I started listening to Kasey in Dec. of 2000? I'd been hearing
about her & I kept meaning to buy her album, but I hadn't gotten around to
it since I really didn't know anything about her...and then I caught her on
Austin City Limits and as soon as the show ended, i was at the store buying
her album...I've started turning my friends on to her now as well.  One of
my friends came over and I was listening to "Barricades..." and he literally
stopped in his tracks, "Who is this?"  He came back after Christmas and told
me he bought "The Captain" and then we were at a meeting Monday night and he
leans over, "I bought the new Kasey Chambers."  Then he told me that he'd
turn his friends onto her as well.

I've never gotten to see Kasey live - I live just outside of Kansas City and
she's never really made it too close to here.  I think the closest she's
been is Chicago.

No, I haven't read that book...you'll have to let us know how it is.

I thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Janis and I'm a fairly new fan of Kasey Chambers. I found out about her through her duet with Paul Kelly. I live in Texas north of Dallas and just had the wonderful opportunity to see her live in Austin last Saturday night!

 

Her show was wonderful! She looked really pregnant and, according to her dad, she will probably take about 9 months off after she has the baby so we won't be seeing her on our side of the pond for a while.

 

Has anyone read the book about the Chambers family, "Red Desert Sky"? I just ordered it and can't wait to read it!

Sad news everybody :( The Living End were scheduled
to appear at this year’s ARIA Awards with Kasey Chambers
but have cancelled their performance. This is not a prank:

Chris Cheney in car accident

On Saturday afternoon The Living End vocalist and
guitarist, Chris Cheney, was involved in a serious car
crash on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria.  He was
travelling with his partner Emma down to Airey’s
Inlet. The impact ripped off the side of the car and
sent them spiralling off the road and down the
embankment stopped only by a tree.  The other car kept
going and had a head on collision with another 2
vehicles shortly after.  The other driver walked away
unharmed.

We have been told that Chris is extremely lucky to be
alive and if he hadn’t swerved at the last minute he
wouldn’t have been so fortunate. He is currently
hospitalised in a stable condition, his partner Emma
escaped with minor injuries.

The Living End were scheduled to appear at this year’s
ARIA Awards with Kasey Chambers but have cancelled
their performance.
