Hmmm, the K1mk1 I once had(and miss now!) could be turned up really hot for aftertouch response, and can't think of any reason for the mkII to be otherwise....

On the K5, there is a config menu where you can enable and disable midi in and out parameters. You can select if it sends volume, pitch... Maybe you should try...
