For starters, I'm a neutral individual and only interested in what
the fans' responses are to this serious comment about Kenny G
(probably the most critical essay on him in his career) by a serious
jazz artist.
I'm not looking for generalizing remarks or anything that is a broad
comment. I'd like to start a civilized thread here regarding these
remarks by Pat (who many of us probably appreciate too (if the pop
world isn't too distant from the serious jazz world)) that deals
with the specific issues that Pat has brought up here.
On just about every Kenny G. site I've seen it this esssay topic has
turned into a troll fest, which is what I'd like to avoid here. I'm
assuming since you all are in this yahoo group you're serious
listeners and are critical and objective. THAT is who I'd like to
hear from.
I'll start the thread off by asking the question... does sales
receipts reflect an artist's true importance within that genre of
music that he/she is trying to play within?
