After the successful California Throat Singing Camps, Pure Nature
Music is offering a two-week camp in Tuva. Twelve students will be
able to interact with their teachers in a beautiful nature setting.
Accommodation will be provided inside traditional Tuvan yurts, 4-6
people to a yurt, with traditional Tuvan meals. Lessons will be
taught by master throat singing group Chirgilchin; Aldar Tamdyn,
Mongun-ool Ondar, and Igor Koshkendey. We accept all skill levels and
experience in throat-singing. Some of our students from earlier camps
have already signed up. Lessons will include six of the different
styles of throat singing, as well as traditional Tuvan instruments and
the Tuvan language. Students will be able to learn the skills they
choose in small groups of four students per teacher. Teachers will
give all of their students equal attention. Following the end of the
camp, students will travel to Tuva's annual harvest festival Naadym.
The festival consists of traditional sports, music, dance, food, and
horse riding. The $2000 fee includes accommodations, food, lodging,
lessons, and transportation around Tuva.
Each student will be responsible for his transportation before
arriving to Tuva. We will help with arranging visas and tickets. It
would be ideal for all of the students to depart on the same day.
Arranging a visa to Russia will cost around $100. Air travel during
the summer from the U.S. to Moscow can be from $1000 to $1200 (Round
trip). Upon arrival at Moscow, be prepared to spend around $600 on
transportation from Moscow to Krasnoyarks or Abakan (Round trip).
From Krasnoyarsk or Abakan, transportation to Kyzyl is around $50.
The total cost of travel is approximately $1800-2000.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you
