Happy New Year . . . This Saturday Night: Cary, NC   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #62 of 117 |
Welcome to 2001. . . and if you are reading this you know how
important a role computers play in our lives. Hal ( from "2001, A
Space Odyssey") I'm sure has been the inspiration for many computer
programmers and developers, and we all place quite a bit of
importance in their existence. Is this another example of life
imitating art? . . .
Speaking about space. . would you like to see what Earth looks like
from space? Check this out. It is very beautiful, and shows just how
luminous we earthlings are.

With all the accomplishments mankind has made, one thing will
hopefully never be replaced - the value of human contact. I can't
imagine being a musician and not having the relationships I have been
able to build with all of you. Thanks again,and I am looking forward
to another wonderful year.

So far, the last couple of days have been busy. I am starting the
planning and organizing of the LIVE CD project that will be taking
place on April 21, 2001 in Roxboro, NC. So far the intended title
will be "ALIVE In a Small Town". It will be recorded at the Kirby
Auditorium, which is a very nice venue, and has quite a bit if
history. I hope many of you can make the trek to our neck of the
woods, and help me complete this project, and create lots of
memories. I plan to have a few very special guests join us on-stage
and an after show party as well. I will fill you in on the details
as they become confirmed.

Personal Interests:
I recently went to see the movie "Castaway", and it really sparked
some pondering. . . . could I survive if that happened to me? Today
when I was browsing my email, I got something that had a survival
test in it, and so I thought I would pass it along. It was pretty
interesting... although passing this will not help too much if
stranded on a deserted island
http://www.myprimetime.com/play/static/survivor/index.shtml

If you liked that test, here is another one that will test your burn
out rate.

If you are starting to feel burn out ( and even if you aren't), it is
time to relax and listen to some good music. You can go to my mp3.com
site http://www.mp3.com/kimbuchanan , and check out some of the
stations listed to get introduced to a bunch of new independent
artists.

VIRUS ALERTS:
These came to me from my mom, and I have not checked them out, BUT it
is better to be safe than sorry.

DO NOT OPEN "PRETTY PARK"
It is a virus, that will erase your whole "C" drive. It will come to
you in the form of an E-Mail from a familiar person. I repeat a
friend sent it to me, but called & warned me before I opened it. He
was not so lucky and now he can't even start his computer! Forward
this to everyone in your address book. I would rather receive this 25
times than not at all.

DO NOT OPEN "AN INTERNET FLOWER FOR YOU"
Intel announced that a new and very destructive virus was discovered
recently. If you receive an email called "An Internet Flower For
You" Do not open it. Delete it right away! This virus removes all
dynamic link libraries(.dll files) from your computer. Your computer
will not be able to boot up.

~~~~~~~
Take care, and have a wonderful new year!
I look forward to seeing you again soon!
Kim
