Puppy News. . .
Some of you may remember that we had gotten a puppy back in June. He became missing on December 7th, and still has not come home. We have done everything we could think of to find him, and hope that he is safe and has found a new loving family.
We got a call from the animal shelter when they thought they had found him. But when we arrived, we saw that they hadn't, but had been giving shelter to so many sweet faces that desperately needed a home. Being the animal lovers we are, we went back and brought home a new puppy. He is part yellow lab, and is so loving and affectionate.
Please consider giving one of your local animal shelter's a visit if you are in the market for a new pet, and share your love with one whose time is limited. Also, please remember to spay and neuter your animals so their offspring will not find their way to the shelters.

Trials and Tribulations
Sometimes the lessons we want to learn are not the ones we are handed. My Grandmother, who will be 96 on the 26th of this month, had a stoke on Christmas Day. I have just returned from visiting her in FL and have come home with a new outlook.
I want to thank everyone who has been a caregiver, a health provider and / or a friend to someone in need. Seeing how so many strangers stepped up to bat for her, and cared and showed real compassion for her this past week has been inspiring. I have been spared, in the past, from experiencing an illness this close, and so never was able to thoroughly appreciate all the hard work, and selflessness given on a daily basis from so many. I thank you and hold you all so dearly in my heart.
I think that I am or will become a better person for experiencing this, and will take the time to visit nursing homes and folks who just need someone to talk to, or hold their hand. I am thankful to my grandmother for helping me learn this lesson, even when it was difficult for her to communicate with words. I am very lucky to have had her around so many years, and hope she will be able to recover, or allow herself to let go.

February, I will be heading to FL for the National Folk Alliance conference and showcase, house concerts, and visit with my family again. At this point I have no locally scheduled events. If that changes, I will definitely let you know.
I just received a call from a wonderful friend and performing songwriter in DC - Rachel Cross, www.rachelcross.com and we will be doing an IndieGrrl show at the Kennedy Center in Washington on April 8th. I am very excited about that.
Stay safe, and I hope the love of life and music fills your days and nights.
