I've been wondering for a while about the output level of the Bass Ampworks.
I got an answer from a Korg tech. Output level is at 0 dB. So although +4 dB
is better, you can still push a power amp with it.
It means that you can build a rather nice mini-rig going like this :
Bass Ampworks -> Power Amp (say, a QSC RMX something) -> Cab (Avatar 1x12 ?)
You will then have everything you need, amp and cab simul, effects, in a
small package.

Q:
Hello.
I have a technical question regarding the output level of the Bass AmpWorks.
Does it reach the necessary output level to push a power amp and therefore be
used for full preamp applications ?
If not, what kind of device would you recommend in between ?
Thank you for your answer.

A:
Hello,
Yes, Ampworks Bass does reach the 0db level necessary to drive a power amp,
without a preamp. Please note that the Ampworks output is stereo (TRS), not
balanced. If your power-amp requires a balanced input, using a ¼” TRS to XLR
cable, or ¼” TRS to ¼” TRS will impede performance. In this scenario use a
regular ¼” cable (for mono operation), or a ¼” TRS to two mono ¼”
Y-cable (for
stereo operation). If your power-amp requires a balanced XLR input you will have
to use a direct box. Thank you for your email.
