I'm not an expert by any means but I do love my sansamp for live and
recording. I play a Warrior Custom and most things you put in the signal
chain just limit the clarity and add noise. If you want effects I'd go with
a higher end unit than the Korg. Maybe Line 6. If I had it to do over again
I'd look into the Tascam bass trainer @$150, cheaper and has everything you
need for practice in one unit. Unfortunately this came out after I bought
the PX4B. Don't get me wrong, you can use the Korg live with certain
combinations of settings and it's pretty quiet, sometimes quieter than the
Boss pedals I have, especially my chorus and reverb pedals. Just impossible
to change effects mid-song. And the thing is so fragile. After hitting the
floor several times, breaking the belt clip, I finally put velcro on the
back to stuck it to my amp cabinet. Paranoia finally got the best of me so I
leave it at home velcroed to a cabinet next to my computer for practice
only.
