I would recommend buying a true bypass pedal (prob about £15 off
ebay). The nature of the switching on the G5 suggests a true bypass
would be difficult, and likely cost as much as the true bypass pedal
anyway. + you might have trouble if you wanted to sell it on (I don't
know why that would be the case...)
Does anyone use one of these? any thoughts on settings? I have one,
and tend to keep everything pretty flat, I was wondering if anyone had
managed to 'map' qualities of bass sound to slider combinations????

Would anyone be interested in helpin' a guy out? I can't seem to find a
pdf on the Korg site and the only one I have located is rediculously
priced. Any help or heads up would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes you should be ok using any universal power supply as log as it is
powerful enough and the pin is the correct orientation, probably about
300ma.... I replaced mine some time ago after the original packed in
working and I've had no probs
Pete
I just won an auction for a Korg G5 but it doesn't have the power
supply included. Can i just use a standard Boss style 9v center
negative power supply? Do I have to get the proprietary supply?
Thanks,
Mark
The answer IS in the manual - I'm at work and can't tell you exactly where it
is...
I'll check when I get home, but I'll bet you'll have your answer before then.
Good luck!

Hi All,
New to the group and would like to introduce myself. Interests in playing
have always been with the sounds of Duck, Jamerson, Rocco and Jaco not
necessarily in that order. I like the simple but fast groove that rest solid
in the pocket.
I have been using the Pandora for about 5 or 6 years...not exaclty sure, but
that sounds about right. I don't use the Pandora for tone sculpting as it
seemed to be to to unpredictable when getting the effects to kick in, and
then once it did kick in it either distorted my rig or started clipping
internally.
Has anyone else experienced these problems?
Is it my older unit that is the cause of the problems?
I really like the unit for it's metronome and drumming program which I find
useful when I want to practice quietly, but as for using it in any kind of
professional capacity I have stayed away from it.
Thanks,
Mark Ragsdale

Does anyone out there have a manual for this bass effects unit. I
recently bought a used unit but the manual did come with it. If it
could be sent to me by e-mail or tell me where I can find one I would
be much thankful.
What about simulating Flea's Modulus Bass on the AX1B? I know the
Exciter mod does the trick but have any of you came up with a close
resembelance patch?
Thanks guys for all the feedback. All I do now is solo my jazz pickup
(on my Ibanez SR600) and use de DEFRET. It gives a close sound to
Jaco's fretless. Very warm and subtle sound.

That is so true, when I want a Jaco sound I pick up my
Fender Jazz Fretless, use the bridge pickup and pick
(with my fingers, not a pick of course) close to the
bridge to get the definitive Jaco "POP". I like to
turn the volume on the bass down a little bit, and
also back off on the tone knob a little for a warmer
cleaner POP...
Anyway, fun stuff!

Do You Yahoo!?

Actually, i think Jacos sound comes specially from his bass.
Maybe to get near of what he is doing try to use the bridge pickup only on
your bass, and tone to max. If your bass is active set it flat.
Then in the AX1B use only a little chorus and/or "defret" to simulate the
"mwaa" a fretless gives.
If you need use the EQ section to..... I need to know how the bass sound,
but as a referece boost the 250 Hz and 550 Hz (just a little) and cut 1.6 K
Hz.
What bass/amp dp you have?
