As far as I know,the Z1 hasn't a reprogrammable OS. If
you want to change the os, maybe you have to sent it
to a support center.
I don't think it's a bargain in this sense.

My opinion on the price you paid for the synth is
positive, because the Z1 is a very versatile synth
wich gives a very extended palette of sounds: a lot
larger than the standard subtractive palette of some
specific synths. So for that price i belive it's a
bargain.
