The 2nd step of the collaborate remix project by the elite
crew "PACMAN"(a.k.a.OCTOPUS INC) and "COLONGIB" of an attention
label "KRACFIVE" of U.S. electronica scene!
The tracks selection from the long unavailable "PACMAN|COLONGIB" CD
(released by the 1st work of KRACFIVE in 1998) and an excellent
unreleased collaborative effort called "Farm Plant". This collector's
CD of a total of 13 tracks!
The sound in early works of them consists of the simple and complex
bright melodies and breakbeats which are associated with BGM of an
initial video game!
Artist who has developed into an unprecedented new electronic
breakbeats style and who continues to be expected!
::Noah Sasso (Pacman, Octopus inc) was born & raised on the east
coast of the us. In between psychedelic public high school
experiences, he managed to record a series of four Pacman cassettes,
parts of which were used to compile the 2x cd release, Pacman - This
is the End. Currently, Noah is living in southern California &
northern New Jersey, and has recorded two albums for Kracfive as
Octopus Inc - 1999's Mere Things & Mindless Creatures and, to be
released in summer of 2001, Fluid Freedom. Octopus music was praised
recently in the LA Times as 'kinetic' and 'ebullient'. (ebullience is
good)
::Chris Graves (Colongib, Christopho Graves) was born and raised in
backwoods New England coast (USA). While growing up he was surrounded
by robots, which influenced his music in strange and unpredictable
ways. Despite being influenced to do general stuff by the mother, he
had to start having sonic adventures. He started K5 with Joe and Noah
out of some weird masochistic urge to spend vast $ and time. And it
worked! Really, the old imagination vs suck; and imagination is
coming out on top. I'm going to go lift some weights. what?!
::Kracfive(www.kracfive.com) is independently operated from several
headquarters and offices over the east coast of the US.

here we are. ok! the collaboration album 'Original
Instrument' (KFAT009CD) will be officially coming out

sooner - with Green Galactic promotion company helping
us get the word out with this release! see
http://www.greengalactic.com/kracfive.html
but sshh - we have it now and it's available directly
from us through the web site. we added paypal to the
ordering page to give you the option of making it
cheaper for you and more convenient for us. there are
mp3 clips there too.
'This album sees Colongib, Miragliuolo, Octopus Inc,
and Kettel collaborating with all sound sources being
human vocals. Constructicons use a wide range of real
human instruments, the result being funky, unexpected,
surreal, sexy, "emotional", dynamic. What a load of
fun these guys have! Real songs! Human emotion! Human
voices! They must be crazy to imagine such songs as
these! The beginning and end of music at the same
time? Vocal cutups and distortions are taken to
extremes - not woven in, they are the music. It will
be a marvelous, completed album with the pointed
upward precision the Scherapparates arrange of the
blow of the axe the voices to bring around the
Vergngen and make you suprised.'
noah's 'Octopus Inc: Fluid Freedom' (KFAT010CD) came
out this past August . it's for sure his best yet, so
please try a dosage and order it through us or your
favorite shop.
"[Noah] combines acoustic and electronic
instrumentation to make this journey very mellow, and
very sweet .. [he] occasionally slips in hip-hop
loops, but the whole picture is more downtempo
reminiscent .. a nice venture into slow rhythms and
summer afternoon pleasantness."
-Nirav Soni, Ink 19

Hi all .. first things first; new Colongib album is hot off the press. Hear
the mp3 clips @ kracfive.com. Read about it below.
"480% better than his last album! 20 years in the making, this album hears
Colongib collaborating with life-long soul-mate Chris Graves. Songs and
soundscapes are assembled with great detail and changing nonrepetition, yet
not 100% abstract: still accessible and with 80% more funk. This album has
personality. A sense of humor from an odd kracfive land. Colongib and
likeminded fellows (elsepeople de Kracfive, Bisk, Freeform, Ae, Atom,
Phthalo, Hrvatski, Sonig camp) seem to be building a new language in music -
sourcing sounds from all walks of life (microphones in hand at all times,
electronic synthesis, sampling, altered often beyond recognition and fitted
together as if originally from the same world) and composing with them in a
technically impressive manner while retaining an organic feel. A beautiful
and appropriate machineplant mess for artwork, built by Tpolm and Graves."
Get Special Rumble for $10 direct from www.kracfive.com or $more elsewhere
in a few weeks when it hits the retailers. This first k5 release in 2001
looks and sounds beautifully dense intense indeed. Comes with a bonus
magnetic disapearing phase melody.
West Coast ! January 27th is the date of the first k5alive show in 2001.
Come to the Roy O. Disney hall at CalArts, in Valencia California (20
minutes north of LA off the 5) at 8:30 or so for some live Octopus Inc,
among others. Should be a trip. This is an all ages free show with free
drinks and lots of freeform starry eyed college students, so come prepared.
Prepared for fun!
best

11 nov 2000 as part of some sort of series of 10-minute gigs,
like a short festival. apparently there will be some lovely
gener ickrock bands playing there too, so even more reason to
stroll on by. more informations about that when known.
C. upcoming releases:
kfat006> kettel album
kfat008> colongib album
kfat009> 100%-vocals collaboration album
kfat010> octopus inc album
kfat011> md album
we aren't used to announcing them ahead of time, so if you're
also not used to it, it'll be okay. we'll all grow accustomed
to it together. or just ignore it. it might not even be 100%
correct. vinyl releases also on the horizon. half of these
will possibly be in your hands by year's end. spread the word,
get excited, practice fasting: listen to nothing for weeks
before purchase.
www site has been updated and will get more updationarization.
that's all for now i believe. if you find this to be wrong,
or know anything about the whereabouts of this character, please
email us with your whereabouts.

Hello.. A bit of news for everyone:
First! Our beautiful new webpage is up and running at
www.kracfive.com .. the mp3s aren't up yet, but sometime next week
they should be all set so check back for lots of new and free k5
tunes. If you're using Netscape reload the page right after it loads for the
first time (for an evil reason the balls do not like to roll on that first
load).
Second! Tonight, Friday June 2nd, Philadelphians and others should
come see Octopus Inc perform a laid back & completely improvised set
at his friend Joe's artshow/ambientnoisehouseparty thing. Should be a
nice place, and I *think* it's free but not sure about that.
Directions are below. Noah's playing at 9 or 9:30ish with more music
to follow.
| From Rt.76:
Take Walt Whitman Bridge ($3) and stay on 76 West, take University
Ave exit over the bridge and past the children's hospital. Left onto
Spruce Street, take it up to 46th st. Left onto 46th and continue
straight through Baltimore Ave light. Right onto Springfield.
BEESPACE
4610 Springfield Ave |
Come on in and get friendly with the natives. =)
And, if you can't make this show, that's kind of okay because the
marumari/kracfive east coast tour is kicking off at the end of june.
more info on that soon.
till then

Released 29 December 1999--
[KFAT003CD] 'V/A: Penguin-Mechanics Vol III' compilation 1xCD
The mechanics were given nearly complete freedom, with the rough guideline
of constructing a track that resembles the machine, combining recorded /
synthesized sounds of -- klankgrinding, motor whirring, metallic collisions,
beeps and buzzes -- into rhythmic components. Resultant mechanical devices
complement one another: warring machines, lighthearted apparati, anxious
robotics, mighty bomotractors with wide loads, thumping gadgets ready for
inspection... all in the genus groovemechanismi. Features these artists:
brothomStates, Freeform, Colongib, Versh Gear Choir, Bauri, Octopus Inc,
V/VM, Proem, Pacman, Chaircrusher, Phthalocyanine, Lackluster, Miragliuolo,
Cex.
Packaging and artwork is special [and time-consuming! ;] different cover
artwork and piece-of-machine for each] -- no 2 copies are the same (but all
look lovely). Later on, for extra $ there will be an even more special
packaging option (a custom-built mechanical, metallic canister).
http://www.kracfive.com for mp3 sound clips and ordering ($10 direct). Also
available from forcedexposure.com, skimo, bentcrayon.com, hopefully your
local store, etc.. Other stores and promoters and reviewers make contact
now. Quick big yard thanks to the contributing musicmakers.
Please copy this message to all tank factories,
thanks, Kracfive.

since you were involved in that, chris, you gets a free copy. most everyone

hi. self-promotion isn't much fun =). some things:
(+)
first, Noah Sasso has a new full-length CD out just now:
Octopus Inc - 'Mere Things and Mindless Creatures' [KFAT007CD]
it has been pressed, and looks nice, and sounds nice, so you should check it
out. once we get the artwork back you can buy it from our web site and other
stores. there are sound samples on the site. very soon. <--same for
KFAT003CD (V/A: Kracfivian Mecha-penguins).
(+)
a few of the kracfive brothers will be playing music in a live (improv?)
fashion at a show in gloucester, massachusetts, usa tomorrow night (Aug 5).
information and directions here:
http://www.toneburst.com/upcoming.html
it starts at 8pm and costs $5.00 and there are a lot of acts (some really
great ones too). we are going near the early side. we are billed as 'Eva
Frick', which is the trio of Colongib, Miragliuolo, and Zaharia. and there
is rumor that Hanson might be making a guest appearance!
that's all for now. no, wait!
(-)
we have been told that http://kracfive.apex-it.com is out of order.
(+)
well it was a second ago, but now it's back. gah. so if it ever is taking a
break, just try again in a few hours. it gets sleepy sometimes. but kourakos
is a great man. anyway, we'll be at www.kracfive.org or .com soon and
another redesign, so look for that. also http://www.kourakos.com/grav/music
always works.
thanks.
bye

Yooooooo, new news from the kracfive krew; first off, we've got a revamped
website that is looking pretty slick, check it out at
http://kracfive.apex-it.com. On the page you'll notice that new albums from
Colongib and Pacman are now available! They are as follows..
=+%
:new stuffs:
kfat004cd - Colongib: Mapping Music
&
kfat005cd - Pacman: This is the End
The former is the second longplayer from kracfive's evil genius, Colongib. This
release has the distinction of being the first k5 release to be pressed on
actual silver cds, rather than green or blue cd-rs.
The latter is a double cd-r by kracfive's master of dead languages, Pacman. Disc
one contains Mr. Pacman's final tracks, and disc two is full of remixes,
collaborations and extra bits that have gotten buried over the years.
You will also see that we are manufacturing and distributing this:
idmcdr002 - V/A: IDMList Remix Chain
That project was started by Multsanta and a good while ago now! The tracks have
been ready for release for a while and it is finally available on CDR. Official
page is at http://multsanta.home.sprynet.com/idmremix.htm. MP3's of the tracks
will be available at http://www.mp3.com/idmremixchain/ soon.
:still available:
kfat002cd - Colongib: Upgrade [to v2.0]
&
kfat001cd - Pac|Gib split cd
:coming "soon":
kfat004cd - v/a: kracfivian mecha-penguins vol III
%+=
Those are the goods, and that's the news. More information on all of the above
is available at the webpage, as well as ordering, and you can write us at
kracfive@.... Online stores like S://KIMO (skimomusic@...) and
some others will have copies of stuff. Seaweed makes progress.

who have used their machinery's Mechanical abilities to their fullest;
004--a brand new LP by Colongib and his brother's feret; and
005--Pacman's "This is the End" limited-edition double CD(-R). The
formats of 003 and 004 should be CDs pressed from a plant.
002, Colongib: Upgrade to v2.0, his first LP, is now in more
sufficient production, available direct from Kracfive, or
Phthalo/TheBarrio (www.phthalo.com / www.thebarrio.com), and soon
S://KIMO (skimomusic@...), etc.
Snipped from a review of both 001 and 002, here is the 002 part:
_Colongib: Upgrade to v2.0 (Kracfive,US KFAT002 CD-R)
Colongib's very autechre influenced sound, except with a dab of
"drill n' bass" (with clanging metal replacing the pneumatic 'drill'
breaks...). More sharp new skool electro from Mr. graves. Featuring
all hits from his old 'colongib 1' demo tape: "Thumb Machine", "Imp
Containment Unit", and so on. Plus several sweet new joints. Static
bursts and metallic beats over oh so sweet melodies. I could go on
for days about every intricate detail, but i won't bore ya. So let's
make it short and sweet: buy these discs, at ten bucks a pop you will
not regret.

001, the Pacman|Colongib split remix CD-R, is sold out. We might be
able to whip one up for you if you trade us 2-3 old cassetes or
records distinctly from the 80s, or $10 like before.
000 was never for sale. So pay people loads of money when you find it,
ok?
The world wide www web (dubbadubbadubba) pages will be updated soon.
