This weekend (January 15 and 16) there will be all-day singings
from _The Sacred Harp_, America's most popular a capella
songbook, at Angels Gate Cultural Center, San Pedro.
No admission charge. Loaner books available. (Books also sold
for $20 at the conference.) Potluck dinner provided.
"Sacred Harp" singing is also known as "Shape Note Singing".

This is a good opportunity to experience a capella choral works
by early American composers such as William Billings,
Jeremiah Ingalls, Sarah Lancaster, and others, in the original
