Aaron,
I'm vacationing in Virginia this week and came across an older Lacy CD yesterday
at a Big Lots store here. The compilation is entitled "Takin' It Easy" and
features a live picture of Lacy playing a guitar. The CD features: 16th Avenue,
Dream Baby, Everybody Makes Mistakes, Working Class Man, Tennessee Waltz, Crazy
Blue Eyes, Takin' It Easy, Hillbilly Girl With The Blues, Hard Times and
Whisper. The CD was released by KRB Music Companies of Brentwood, TN, licensed
from San Juan Music Group of Parlin, NJ.
It's hard to tell if the cuts are demos or tracks recorded for a live TV
appearance as they are definitely not the album versions but there is no audible
audience noise. The tracks have that "raw" feeling to them and I very much
enjoyed listening to them. Lacy raw sounds even better than Lacy polished if you
know what I mean.
I'm wondering if you or Lacy can remember if these were demos or if they're ones
she recorded for a TV special and what year(s) she cut them.
Please pass on to Lacy my compliments on a super raw cut of "Working Class Man."
This was a great way to wake up this morning.
Hope Lacy is having fun back in the studio...
Have a good weekend!
Cheers,
Will Noiles,
A Canadian Lacy Fan

By the way have you heard anything on Lacy's new CD there has been nothing on the list as yet.

Hi Everyone,

So sorry for not being more present on the list.  We changed ISPs and discovered that several of our e-mail accounts were not functioning properly - this being one of them.

We're still in production on Lacy's new CD and will be back in the studio next week working on some more tracks.  As we're doing this as players are available, there's no firm release date yet.  We're hoping to have it done by the end of the year.

Here's a partial song list for now (not firm yet, just songs that have been recorded for possible inclusion):

Heart of Hearts (Stay Open)
Old Dog Blue
She Could Run
Boundless Skies (from the "Spirit" movie project)
Little Boy Blue
The Wanderers
Slip Away
She Could Run
Standin' Knee Deep in the River
Goin' Up To Alaska

There's more to come.

Also, the live concert CD of the "Girls From Santa Cruz" PBS special should be available shortly.  It features performances by Lacy, Ginny Mitchell and Mary McCaslin.  It features 9 tunes by Lacy, including live versions of Black Coffee, Slip Away and other popular Lacy J. tunes.

You can order the CD (and a DVD of the show) at www.girlsfromsantacruz.com.

That's it for now.  Again, sorry for not being more up-to-date recently.

Take care,

Aaron Anderson
