Most of the "hits" albums cut by artists for companies like K-Tel are
re-recorded, trying to match the originals as closely as
possible. Apparently, this is less expensive than licensing the actual
recordings from the record company.

No, believe it or not, those were cut in about 1997, just before we moved
from Nashville.

The music business is funny that way. Artists generally don't get paid for
"greatest hits" compilations, either. That's why you'll see so many
re-packages of songs and hits. CBS has released about 1 dozen compilation
albums of Lacy's stuff over the years and she hasn't received a dime from
any of them. It's just how the record companies work. Some bigger artists
can negotiate payment for compilations, but most cannot. The artist does
get regular song writing royalties for any songs included on a compilation
album that they've written, so it helps that Lacy wrote a lot of her own
songs early on.

So are we! It's getting closer to completion. Most of the basic tracks
are finished and we're currently doing things like adding background
vocals, solos, etc. I'll keep everyone posted as to its progress.
