Re: [lacyjdalton] dissapointed

Hi Becky,

I can certainly understand your disappointment. Here's the deal -
hopefully this explanation will clear up a lot of concerns about the
list. I started the list in the summer of 99. The list was
originally hosted by Onelist, which was then bought by Yahoo a year
later. Around that time a lot of silly things happened that led us
to where we've ended up today. I was moving and wouldn't have
steady access to the internet so I gave all the login information to
Aaron (Lacy's husband and manager) - however the login information
was changed by yahoo and most likely sent to a hotmail account that
no longer functioned. The list progressed for a few years without
any real issues or any reason for the moderator to get involved. We
didn't have a spam problem for years. About 2 years ago I joined the
list again, not as the moderator but a member, and found that spam
was inundating the list. Aaron made contact with me assuming I was
still able to log into the list as it's moderator. I was under the
impression Aaron was the acting moderator. So much to everyone's
shock it was discovered the list actually had no moderator, and none
of us know what the correct login information is. Since this
discovery I have made several efforts to contact Yahoo explaining the
situation but my attempts have been fruitless. I've had several
"customer service associates" that have promised to help me with the
issue but none so far have succeeded. And I've not been alone in my
attempts to fix this mess. Lacy's people have been trying to get
things squared away on there side and Yahoo just isn't making it
happen. So I'm very very sorry that the spam is getting through to
you - I'm guessing that's why the list is not as active as it was.
But I promise you their are some amazing Lacy fans out there and
you'll find they are all quite chatty once you get them rolling on a
subject. And don't forget you can always find information on Lacy
through her official web-site at www.lacyjdalton.com. I hope this
helps to clear things up.
Corby

I have been fan of Lacy's for many, many years. She is absolutely awesome. I remember her doing a song that might have been called "Some Lonesome Picker"....
