hi
i'm new to the list. heard about lambchop through being a fan of vic.
i didn't investigate further than 'bernadette...' until i read
something about 'nixon', then immediately picked up the phone, called
the local cd shop and ordered all six. a week later i was picking 'em
all up with loads of mingus and rahsaan roland kirk (and a bill
frisell) to boot. so saturday after quite a bit of mingus and
rahsaan -- i stack up all six cds and listened to all straight
through.... the only thing i knew about them before was that they
played on 'bern...', it was quite an overwhelming experience -nine or
more hours of great mind numbing music -- though i have yet to sort
through it all and comprehend it. don't know which i like better - it
was like one giant cd -- there is something to fundementally nourish
the soul here. like nothing i've felt before. there is something in
that music, those lyrics. can any one help me clarify this --- since
saturday i 've thought this music somewhat vital to soul. i'd like to
learn more info about the group and what all the musicians and kurt
were trying to get across to me on saturday.
i need to learn more about the group!
i would recommend the complete listen-through if you've got ten hours
to immerse your self in this wonderful, mysterious world of lambchop!
it is a hell of an experience!
...now can someone help me sort through all this....
patrick ....
