Hellooo all....

It's great to be back. We have a few busy weekends coming up. On Memorial Day
(Monday May 25) we will be playing at Gaelic Park's Irish Fest
(http://www.chicagogaelicpark.org/Irish_Fest/index.htm). We close out the Tara
(formerly North) Stage at 6:30 PM.

The following Saturday May 30 we will be playing at the Irish American Heritage
Center for their ShamROCK into Summer Event (http://www.irish-american.org/)
The event starts at 6 PM and we play a little later in the evening. So to all
our North side fans who tell us to play North more please come out and show your
support for this event so they will have more of them! We'd love to see you

Being a home owner

I do admit to looking forward to the lightness of our schedule during
April/Early May. There a lot of family time as well as working on the never
ending list that comes with being a home owner. My current project has its
roots into last year.

Last fall young Dan decided to help his sisters out by fixing the brakes on
their 1996 Oldsmobile Achieva. This car has been passed around the family for
the last 13 years most recently being Joe's work car. Now when Joe is getting
rid of a car you can only imagine the shape it is in but it still runs (and six
months later, it still runs).

Through a mishap of not bleeding the lines before driving, the car tapped the
wooden fence across the alley breaking a few boards but not totally destroying
it.

Now this fence will be famous in upcoming documentaries about the band for what
is done to it after a show, but for poor Dan it cost him a few dollars to have
it repaired. So he had a person come out to fix it and at the same time I told
him to give me a quote on my back gate. He ended up putting a nice new gate for
me and afterward I kicked myself for not have the 12 year old front gate redone.

So my project this spring is to repair the fence and with the assistance of my
daughter seal the two fences. We recently went to Home Depot to get the paint.
The paint associate, Shirley, was having a difficult time finding our paint
color.

She ask for some help from another associate who looked at me and asked ,
"Shirley you checked in aisle 3?"

It took all I had not to say, "We checked in aisle 3 and please don't call me
Shirley."

Of course I have bigger projects waiting but the list never ends.

Murphy Benefit

Planning continues on the benefit. There are a couple of events you can be part
of prior to the October 10 Benefit date. The Young Irish Fellowship Club
(www.youngirish.com) has a Pub Crawl planned for the North side on August 29
with the Michael J Murphy Murphy Music Scholarship Fund being one of the
charities they are supporting. Also we (the Larkin and Moran Brothers) will
conduct a South side Pub Crawl on Saturday September 19. All are invited to
attend. More details to follow soon on how to sign up to come along.
