Brother Mike's Musings... by Mike Larkin... '...Two antennas met on a
roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the
reception was excellent...'
Helloooo
Three weeks in a row. I must admit I'm tired but not tired enough to
play one more weekend. Tell me 'Where are the cops when you
need'em?' Well this weekend on Saturday September 22 at 7 PM we join
them with a classy tribute to the Bagpipes and Drums of the Emerald
Society, Chicago Police Department. It's their 25th Anniversary and
they are holding tatoo at the Chicago Symphony Center, 220 S Michigan
Ave. Also on the bill are the NYPD and Bergan couty Chapters of the
Emerald Society. Itr promises to be a party. They are evan having a
post party at the Renaisance Hotel downtown. Their web site is

Ireland Trip Update
Sign up is going great. A note though- It's not too early to get
your pasport in order. I guess it takes longer these days. Also
another reminder everyone to get your booking forms in before the Oct
1 land rate raise to $1399.
Stories From the Road....
We were really busy last weekend but I think the prolonged festival
season has finally made us all a little slower.
Friday we played a show at the Galway Tribes. We had a great set at
Celtic Fest Chicago on Saturday. Since we played in the Quad Cities
on Sunday we did not want to drive all 6+ hours on one day. So we
decided to leave after the show and drive to Davenport, IA.
I'll admit it wasn't easy since I just had a couple Guinnesses and
was getting in the zone. Also as we were approaching the
entertainers parking lot on Columbus Avenue next to the Petrillo
Music Shell, Delores O'Riordan (formerly of the Cranberries) broke
into 'Zombie' as her first song. She's still hot...
Anyway we got on the road. We made it to our hotel in Davenport at
about 11:30 PM. It was still early to go out, however, as we broke
into a few Smithwicks and Guinness we found an old 'Dr. Who' episode
starring the classic Tom Baker. It was hard to change the channel
and we had a good time goofing on the bad acting and effects.
Settling in we ended up watching 'Goodfellas' until about 2 AM. It's
funny how much we all knew about the movie and Henry Hill. Did you
also know that Mike Larkin's nick name is 'Spider' -that's no lie.
Had a great time at the Quad Cities and it really too bad we had to
get home Sunday night.
So no crazy story this week but there always this Saturday Night!!!
Slainte!!
