Brother Mike's Musings... by Mike Larkin... '...When I first got out
of college I was in a meeting with a woman and I said the words "man-
hours". She quickly corrected me and said "person-hours", which I
noted. I now call my mailman (who is a woman) "person person", but
she never gets it. She just flips me off as usual and yells, "You're
not funny!".... I love my person person"...'

Hellooo all…

Showtime continues this weekend on Saturday Oct 20 at Ballydoyle Pub
in Downers Grove (www.ballydoylepub.com). It a great place. They
have a big screen behind so everyone can see. It's a bit distracting
though. I mean I know I have a bit of a big 'Larkin' head but the
big screen adds a couple of hundred pounds to it...

Ignite the Spirit (www.ignitethespirit.com)

Next weekend on Friday Oct 26 we appear at 115 Bourbon St
(www.115bourbonstreet,com) in Merrionette Park to play a benefit for
this charity group run by the Chicago Fire Department. It starts at
8 PM. For just $25 dollar it's all you can eat and drink. The
Ignite the Spirit Fund was created to raise funds for Chicago
firefighters and their families in times of need.

We were going to post the event banner on our myspace site but it's
kind of gay (not that's there is anything wrong with it) looking
since it promotes their calendar. Go look at it on there web site
and you will see what I mean. This does not mean we don't support
the calendar (and you should too); heck I bought five of them
already....

Stupid AOL E-mail

I had a great traveling story to share with you but I again hit a
button that delete what I wrote. You will have to trust me...

That's all for me.

Slainte,

Terry's Ticket to Travel… by Terry Moran - Galway - the Town of the
Tribes

(Terry Moran is going to lead us on a little bit of his travel wisdom
as we approach our tour of Ireland `Seven Drunken Nights' from June
19 – 27, 2008….)

'Now as I tumble down highways, Or filthy overcrowded trains
There's no one to talk to in transit, So I sit there and daydream in
vain
And behind all these muddled up problems,Of living on a foreign soil
I can still see the twists and turns on the road, From the square to
the town of the tribes'

N17 - The SawDoctors

Many people are probably wondering why we picked the places in
Ireland to tour that we did. Galway is easy.

Galway is the capital of the West of Ireland. The streets and
buildings of this ancient town have many interesting features, and
its position on the edge of the Gaeltacht (Irish speaking area) makes
it the gateway to magnificent areas such as Connemara, Corrib
country, and the Aran Islands. Plus the Pubs are fantastic (you will
find in my writing that this sentence will come up regurlarly).

Galway is also home of the great Irish band - the SawDoctors. The
SawDoctors are from Tuam. Taking their name from itinerant craftsmen
who once traveled from sawmill to sawmill sharpening and repairing
saws, the SawDoctors have a fervent following, especially in Ireland
and among Irish-Americans. They hold the record for Ireland's biggest-
selling single of all time, "I Useta Love Her", which topped the
Irish charts for nine weeks in 1990.

Galway is often considered to be the 'Cultural Capital of Ireland',
and is world renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous
festivals, celebrations and events.

We spend two great days to soak up the great West of Ireland and a
few pints. Did I mention the Pubs?....
