Well does anybody remember Summer Days at Kent State? Remember that ?
It was like that only it was all the songs and all night ! First ya
got Alexis P. Suter....who actually does move mountains with her
voice......then everybody started cryin real tears when she sang with
everything she had soooo soulfully "Louisiana" with Larry playing
fiddle so very sadly....I was even warned but I still was very
touched how it got to me......I think Alexis was cryin too.
Then Ollabelle was next and they sang their hearts out and had fun
doing it! Most songs were from their new album and they did play my
favorites from it! We won't study war no more.... NO MORE
Got invited to Denver from some people I met. That how people are
there....they are friends right
away........instantaneously....especially when you eat apples or
cookies together............instantaneously........everybody loves
everybody else inside Levon's house.
The Ramble is a state of mind....it's heaven on earth......it's where
there is no war no more...it's where music can save your soul....it's
where a trumpet blast brings back together New Orleans again.
Larry and Teresa sang a few songs ...the original one "Did You Ever
Love Me At All"
is very sad but beautiful because of the beautiful singing.
Levon is the GREAT Levon and there is a reason for his
greatness..........he gives everything he has into his music......and
takes us along for the ride....but be sure to hold your hat! The
guitars blazed away like swords all night, Larry and Jimmy going at
it head to head..... playing for each other.....we were just the
innocent by -standers.
Ya know it's a good night when all the musicians are grinnin' ear to
ear like Cheshire cats! The piano players were all on top of it all
too....then the horns would come blasting in.......then with Levon
drummin' we all go to another un- named planet.
Oh MY ....Rock and Roll doesn't ever get any better than this!
EVER
Linda
