john merrick band - morczine - drekka tour   Message List

hi,

October brings a lot of new morc-goodies. To start with, there's the
second release of the john merrick band. on the ep 'yesterday
television', the belgian dutchman-dutch belgian Steve Marreyt this
times brings us cowboy-songs for country-fans. Pretty unique, but if
you want some references: maybe a less stressed charlie mccallister
or gary young. or a twisted wio. this release is the second part in
our 3" cdr series. in case you forgot: this spring, we also put out
jmb's debut tape, as a split with celesteville. And we assure you:
the follow-up is just as good...

details + an mp3 of one of the songs: www.geocities.com/morctapes -
the cdr is 4 eur - 5 usd, incl. shipping. ! We now also accept
paypal - please email for details. Still possible: transferring money
to my banc account (advised for dutch/belgian people). or send well
concealed cash to: wim lecluyse / tweede oosterstraat 15 / 1211lg
hilversum / the netherlands / europe

Morc number 32 introduces a new format for us: a paper zine!
Probably, you've also noticed that paper-zines are slowly
disappearing. since morc jumped on the tape-train around the moment
that everyone switched to cdr, we're just in time to get on a sinking
ship! In the first issue of the morc-zine, you can read interviews
with rivulets, mats gustaffson of the late broken face magazine and
adult rodeo (though that's only very very vaguely morc-related),
recipes by sean brooks (of minmae) and reviews including will &
dave's "k" record. + an exclusive john merrick band track (+ the ins
and outs on that song). best off all: its just 1 euro or dollar, to
cover postage costs, or you get it for free with any morc-order, als
long as it fits in the parcel! tere's a seperate website up for the
zine, where we posted the intro's of the articles. after all, it's
meant to be a paper publication, not an online-zine!

too bad if you missed drekka's ep 'tracking shot (wide)'. but the
good news is: he's coming back to tour europa the end of
october/early november and morc will celebrate this by releasing a 3"
tour cdr, recorded in the days before the start of the tour. it even
includes a yet unreleased track of a song that will appear on
annelies monseré 's album on bluesanct (see below for details on
that!). btw: annelies monseré (of zent one) is opening for drekka in
liège on oct 24th. just like in 2002, drekka will be joined by
rivulets on his european tour. rivulets released albums and eps on
labels as chair kickers music, bluesanct, acquarela and tract. And
there's an interview with him in the already mentioned
morc=magazine... Dates are posted here, and we cant advise you the
antwerp show enough: where drekka and rivulets perform alongside wio
and rot: it's almost a morc festival! for the tour-schedule, please
head for www.geocities.com/morctapes/drekka/

these are the most recent releases:

vinyl:
morc 33: karina esp/ circle brothers: collaboration 10" -> 10
eur/11usd (last copies!)
morc 28: fields of gaffney / pernath: split 7" -> 5 eur/6usd
cd:
morc 34: john merrick band: yesterday television 3"cdr -> 4 eur/ 5 usd
morc 27: minmae: since before hereafter 3"cdr -> 4 eur/ 5 usd
tape:
morc 30: karina esp: extra sensory projections -> 3 eur/4 usd
morc 29: celesteville/john merrick band: soup vs potatoes series

for the full morc catalog, please refer to
http://www.geocities.com/morctapes/catalog. we have other items by
iditarod, gang wizard, minmae, zent one, circle brothers, de
portables, gang wizard, bingo trappers...

best!
