NEW Releases since 12/9/2004 (18 items)
==================================

Ashtray Navigations - you cannot tell cigars by the picture on the box
(CD) - Celebrate Psi Phenomenon $12.00
Bedroom legends Ashtray Navigations once more shower the parched earth
with canonised filth and cheap-tape degradation. Hooray! Enlightened
hip-cats like you will already know that Phil Todd has been farming
masterful piles of panoramic shite for near on a decade and now Ashtray
Navigations returns in triumph to set a brand new benchmark in
foggy-psychic-swuzz. To further sweeten this prospect, this is the
first Ash Nav release to feature extensive contributions from a range
of partners-in-grime. These curdling swathes of vaporous murk are out
to win you over once and for all, slowly anaesthetizing your wits into
a long, heavy slumber and undoubtedly leaving you with a bewildering
headache upon your return to consciousness (accompanied a nagging
feeling that you may have left the oven on). Breathe deep and sleep
easy in the knowledge that whatever‘s at the end of this oily, black
rainbow is better than gold.

Augsburger Tafel Confect - hamburger 8 (CDR) - Ultra Eczema $10.00
"from hamburg/germany, a recording of a session they did at the radio,
it will have a sticker and a foldout poster too! i think u might like
the music of it, lots of guitars. and bleebs and noisy's."

Christina Carter - Planets (CASS) - imvated $6.00
"female leader of the charalambides troupe steps on the shining path to
delicate bliss with this beautiful solo offering, totally essential
tape for psychedelic folk troubadours with beards and long armpit hair
- did anyone say wordless vocals ? this tape is best enjoyed with
heroic dosages of alcohol!"

Contagious Orgasm - From the Irresponsible Country Sounds (CD) - PacRec
$8.00
long-running japanese electronic/experimental/sound collage artist with
releases on Ant-Zen, Groundfault, & more.

Control - The Cleansing (CD) - PacRec $8.00
Aversion Online: "I wish more experimental noise projects would release
CD's like this, because it's just impossible to keep up with every
limited release, compilation appearance, etc. from artists in such a
vast scene that is expanding at all times. This collection displays
over 45 minutes of rare material from one of the finest American power
electronics acts out there right now, including the contents of "The
Cleansing" 3" CD-R (Frozen Empire Media), one track from the
"Bitmapping" compilation (Objective/Subjective), two tracks from the
"Field Tales" compilation (Hospital Productions), and the excellent
"Praying to Bleed" 7" (LSDO). The songs from "The Cleansing" have a
good balance of styles involved and to me are reminiscent of sort of a
classic death industrial sound with obscured samples and vocals against
dark ambient undercurrents and perfectly integrated harsh layers. The
heavy flanging and reverb on the vocals in "Cleansing" lend a UK sort
of vibe to the piece, whereas "Elite" is the most subdued and minimal
of that bunch. In fact, many of these tracks are a bit less harsh than
I was anticipating. Of course there are some scorching vocals in
compositions like "Praying to Bleed", but I'm pleasantly surprised by
just how effective and fluid all of these songs are when listened to as
a complete release. Pretty much all of the recordings are on the raw
side, but in a manner that makes sense, so everything is ultra thick
and a little rugged, but not sloppy, and any muddiness that's involved
feels intentional. Like the other new PACrec releases thus far, the
package consists of a matte black and white slipcase, here with largely
abstract artwork and clean text. Very well done. I hope other such acts
with extensive and somewhat scattered discography appearances will
follow this lead. This one's limited to 500 copies as well, making it
another potential rarity in and of itself in a few years' time, but for
now you shouldn't have a problem tracking down this excellent set of
recordings."

Hive Mind - Sand Beasts (CD) - PacRec $8.00
one 38 minute burnt offering laid to smolder on damp grave soil.
electronic throbs like searchlights revealing rotten creatures clawing
at the muddy earth. first release featuring a two person hive mind
lineup (shawn of sirkut electronics and greh of chondritic sound/gate
to gate/black sand desert/cleanse/etc). coreleased with CHONDRITIC
SOUND

Irene Moon - From Field Station (10inch) - Begonia Society $10.00
"10 inches of fun--entomology lectures set to organ music. Repressed in
2004."

Irene Moon - Pangolin Variations (CD) - Begonia Society $5.00
"music of Ergo Phizmiz and remix music from Irene Moon. Just who is
Ergo Phizmiz? Have a look at his site and see for yourself… He likes
cows, curries and peas. Music for those that know better."

Irene Moon and ORTHO - split picture 7" (7inch) - Begonia Society $5.00
"Split picture disk with ORTHO. It’s the first released recordings from
the Auk Theatre 7 inch picture disc "

Joe+N - I bec_a\"me ^ 10 times t,he m\'n 1 use t*o b;e ycjvgytlqxy
(CDR) - Digitalis Industries $8.00
"the kingpin of carbon records takes time off to record two, long
meandering pieces of electric guitar scrawl. remnants of a night lost
to tequila shots and acid flashbacks work their way into the exorcised
guitar tones joe employs here. there is no stagnation here, the
exploration continues through both long pieces, never letting up, never
saying 'the end.' it's magical, indeed." -- limited to 95 copies, comes
with a great handmade-paper cover.

Joe+N - Still Can't Spell Wee-Jee (3inch CDR) - sound-o-mat $6.00
An experimental "accidental" guitar creation bringing sounds from the
Other World into ours for your enjoyment. An antique polished wooden
box and board from 1891 make up this set. Check out the Music for
Seances website

Lucky Dragons and Yackt - radio session (CDR) - Ultra Eczema $10.00
"a limited edition cd of a radio show by lucky dragons and YACHT from
this summer in antwerp put out by ULTRA EXCZEMA with amazing stickers
and a two sided fold out poster by dennis tyfus.."

Magik Markers - In The East (CDR) - imvated $8.00
"neo-primitive dirty fuzz blocking no wave unit now touring with your
fav's Sonic Youth so get your dick out of your pants & get the balls
rolling. pure unadulterated no wave from the corners of the music
galaxy that you never visit, fukin deal!"

Micht - Ysms (3inch CDR) - imvated $8.00
"Perfect for lying flat on the ground when your lungs are about to
collapse. Micht never blossoms into giant garden bliss yet strangely
strips noise down to it's bare necessities. Tape hiss maggots crawl.
Sticky covers buried in Imvated's rotten backyard, dodgy stuff. They've
been sent to our medical research laboratories to check how toxic they
truely are. No wonder nobody can keep track of Imvated's continuous
stream of quality dirt style!"

Origami Subtropika - Bomb Shelter Lullabies (3inch CDR) - Cipher
Productions $0.00
[NOTE: this is a business-card CDR] - one in a series of releases by
this project of Jorge Castro; the sounds of fear and warfare - limited
edition of 100 copies

Popular Shapes - B-Ball Music (7inch) - white denim $5.00
"As the last will and testament of Popular Shapes, 'B-Ball Music' is
clearly Popular Shapes' most focused and cohesive effort. Savvy
listeners will be reminded of The Fall, Le Shok, The Victims and Wire
within these two tracks, assuming they weren't knocked over by the
sweaty bodies splashing wine from a box. Intricate guitar interplay
coasts freely like the plot of The OC while squirmy vocals free
themselves from a box. The emphasis is clearly on song-writing, but the
exuberance of four boys patting each other shirtless remains as bright
a glare as Ford Explorer floodlights. It's rare that a band comes along
where all the pieces fit seamlessly, equally throbbing and subdued.
'B-Ball Music' is just that, with equal parts Kobe and Shaq.

There are 10 test pressings, each on black vinyl with handmade covers.
There are 835 copies on white vinyl with orange, clear and black
spatters, each with a full-color hardstock jacket."

the 1985 - seven inch record (7inch) - Pop Bus $3.00
the first(?) recording from this spastic rock band from Pittsburgh.
from 1996/1997 era.

Various Artists - Carbon 10YR.Series BOXSET (OTHER) - Carbon Records
$70.00
10YR.Series.BOXSET - This is the Carbon 10YR.Series Boxset. It includes
10 CDRs released throughout 2004, for the price of less than 9. Also
included is a homemade wooden box with metal stamped cover and
slide-drawer, which houses the 10 releases, plus a bonus DVD-R the
making of.... Be the first on your block. The series includes Joe+N,
Mike Shiflet, Dead Machines, Ming (Campbell Kneale of Birchville Cat
Motel), Crawlspace, Coffee, Tom Carter & Shawn McMillen, Andy GIlmore,
