"A re-issue of the out-of-print 2004 monsterpiece from the Melbourne,
Australian trio Grey Daturas. Originally released through the band's

Kvlt Of Unicron - untitled (show tape) (CASS) - Epicene Sound System
$6.00
"two side long tracks on the new side a is KofU as 3 piece, blasting
out blackened beats and tone harshness. Side b is the whole group on
an unusually harsher jam. Each side sounds drastically different than
the other, and drastically different than the debut while still
retaining the droned out creep factor that has folks referring to
them as a “super group”. ltd to (?) pro printed covers on textured
paper."
Light of Shipwreck - From The Idle Cylinders (CDR) - Crucial Blast $9.00
"Light Of Shipwreck is a one-man band operated by Ben Fleury-Steiner,
a Deleware-based drone artist and owner of the excellent Gears of
Sand Recordings imprint, which has released discs from some of our
favorite ambient/drone/drift artists including Encomiast, Cordell
Klier, and Aidan Baker. It was actually through Aidan Baker that we
found out about Ben's Light Of Shipwreck project; knowing that we're
fanatics for "heavy ambient" sound, Light Of Shipwreck was
recommended as something we should check out. At first expecting
something more along the lines of the kind of floating ambient rumble
that marks so much of my favorite Baker solo stuff, I was pleasantly
surprised by how percussive the tracks I heard online from LOS were,
the dense, ominous feedback drones and heavy rumbling ur-riffs
floating freely over a mechanistic tribal-rhythm freakout. We ended
up getting in touch with Ben from Light Of Shipwreck and it turned
out that he had a nearly hour-long disc that he wanted
to have released through our Crucial Bliss imprint, and here we
are: a three-track full length of rich, crushing power-ambient,
titled From The Idle Cylinders, a reference to the American
Objectivist poet George Oppen whose work is a consistent influence on
Light Of Shipwreck's imagery, with huge slabs of resonant sheet metal
shimmering in an ocean of heavenly feedback and reverberating guitar
drone, and surges of droning tribal Krautrock percussion floating
along with distorted ambient doom powerchords and washed out vocal
cord bliss, each track running upwards of 20 minutes in length. A
totally breathtaking piece of music, like Steve Reich, Brian Eno,
Can, and Earth swirled together into an austere, hypnotizing heavy-
trance masterpiece. This limited edition CD-R of From The Idle
Cylinders comes packaged in the signature Crucial Bliss foldover card
sleeve with the disc itself attached to the sleeve on a plastic hub
and featuring striking photo design, in a print run of 200!
copies. "
Placenta Popeye - black fever (CDR) - Carbon Records $8.00
31+ minutes from this french noise duo. deconstructed songs, similar
to the DeadC with their guitar and vocal work sometimes low-key drone/
tones, sometimes more aggressive and harsh. its all very good. (at
least) 1/2 of the group runs the Tanzprocesz label (http://
tanzprocesz.free.fr/). [packaged in Stumptown-Arigato package,
sprayed and stenciled, multiple colors, with insert and sprayed and
stenciled CDR]
Sorc'henn - Harmonium Pieces And Dead Reveries (CDR) - Ruralfaune $10.00
"Ritual & funeral music from Breizh (Brittany), played under a dead
pine tree. Breizh is synonymous with the magic green and golden
colours of the Arrée Mounts where he mythical and the mystical blend
with nature. A country of moors, gorse, and heather, crests and
ragged rocks, peat bogs, forests, marshes, green and wooded valleys.
Possessed and lost" Limited to 66
Souvenir's Young America - s/t (CD) - Under Radar $9.00
"Monstrous instrumental post-metal from Richmond, Virginia that
crushed our skulls! We've heard previous recordings from these guys
that we really liked, which saw them working with a mixture of spare
Neurosis/Godflesh informed heaviness and cinematic post-rock like
Godspeed You! Black Emporer or Explosions In The Sky. Really good
stuff, very pretty at times, and heavy n' crushing at others. Well,
this debut full length on the ever-stellar Underadar label takes
those basic ideas and carries them into a whole new realm of
beautiful, flowing, HEAVY instrumental music that we have totally
fallen in love with. These songs are heavily layered, masterfully
assembled instrumental creations, emotionally moving and majestic
like Red Sparowes, filled with dense shoegazer buildups and gorgeous
droning electronc swirl, massively heavy prog-rock dirges and sludgy
piano-accompanied rock, never descending into boring noodling or
overextended jams. A range of instruments are used here, keybo
ards, percussion, samples, guitars, accordion, xylophone, cello, and
much more. The whole album sounds like a soundtrack for a killer lost
road-trip movie scored by members of Neurosis and Godspeed You! Black
Emporer doing a weird mix of 70's prog and biker rock, and 80's
soundtrack metal, but with all sorts of forays into lonesome, dusty
country guitar-twang, long droning expanses of floating electronic
drones, supremely beautiful and often super-crushing !!! This is
ABSOLUTELY A MUST GET for fans of heavy instrumental ambient metal/
post-rock (Red Sparowes, Mogwai, Mono, Pelican, Isis, etc.), and
soundtrack-influenced heaviness (Zombi, Chromelodeon). Very very
highly recommended!!!!"
Souvenir's Young America - An Ocean Without Water (LP) - Crucial
Blast $12.00
" The limited-edition yellow-clear vinyl version of Souvenir's Young
America's powerful sophomore album An Ocean Without Water is now
available from Crucial Blast - only 150 of these were pressed, and we
only have less than 25 copies in stock. Richmond, VA's cinematic
instrumentalists SOUVENIR'S YOUNG AMERICA present their second full
length, "An Ocean Without Water", recorded with John Morand
(Labradford, Sparklehorse, 4 Walls Falling) at Sound of Music. The LP
version of "An Ocean Without Water" comes in a full color sleeve with
original artwork by Sasha Barr. Lush, shimmering guitar ambience and
hypnotic, propulsive instrumental heaviness wind through the dusty
highways and burnt twilight skies of "An Ocean Without Water," the
sophomore album from Richmond's Souvenir's Young America. Divided
into six flowing movements, "An Ocean Without Water" is filled with
intensely beautiful melodies that drift on lonesome harmonica strains
and sparkling, celestial electronics, shot thr
ough with mystic, western slide guitar, passages of crushing angular
riffage, rolling tribal drumming, and transcendent blues. Through
their intricate song arrangements and moody textures, Souvenir's
Young America has created an epic, emotional narrative. The sound
draws from the collected DNA of forebears like Popul Vuh, Earth,
Labradford, and Neurosis, yet they form a powerfully evocative
instrumental language all of their own. Features collaborations with
Aughra (Magic Bullet Records) and Nick Forte (Sublight Records, ex
Rorschach / Beautiful Skin). "
Stone Baby - fully render(ed) /cloud/s (CDR) - Carbon Records $8.00
44+ minutes from this drone/creeper duo (Cory and Jen) from Rochester
NY. guitars, violin, effects, dulcimer, homemade tape machine and

sense and mixture of denseness and space. [packaged in a 5x7" kraft
chipboard envelope, original cloud artwork from Cory, affixed with
clear/thread-grid tape and sprayed/splattered, insert/notes and
sprayed CDR]

dissovling into tape hiss ambient with booming free barbaric yawps
from these legendary characters. chris corsano guests on the o'rourke

Various Artists - showtunes of the condemned (CD) - Hospital
Productions $12.00
"two years in the making, showtunes of the condemned emerges not as a
compilation, but a massive unified whole. spinning, spinning,
spinning. a dark, edgy, electronic epic, acting as a pandora's box of
social and urban anxiety. ranging from lo-fi ambient soundscape to
high-tech industrial powernoise, and rotten sound collage, the varied
styles on this cd merge into a compelling argument for despair.

Waverly Hills - The Nurse (CDR) - Ruralfaune $10.00

Waverly hills ghosts. Totally sick, dark, cold, and lonely…" limited

Wether / Teeth Collection - split (7inch) - Epicene Sound System $5.00

pro pressed 7” and offset printed covers. ltd to 300 copies. a split
releases from no horse shit and epicene."
Yellow Swans - At All Ends (CD) - Load Records $12.00
"At All Ends is the third record in the Yellow Swans vast body of
work. This record is an assured record of chiming drone and heady
pelvic sky fuckery. New sounds emerge from the YELLOW SWANS camp that
are more hushed, and whisper with the logic of deep space. Whereas
the last record was a laser beam guided minimal transmission with
dark overtones, this new release injects sonic clouds full of pink
oxycontin. Guitar lines sketch out a melodic vision that stupifies
with hypnotic repetition. Elements of lush drone stretch the
proceedings in vast strokes. Yellow Swans veer towards krautrock
territory with this new record, and it will go down in the big books
as their most beautiful and vibrant record thus far. Layer upon layer
of rich and dense guitar chug build into multi-orgasm songscapes that
leave the loins sore and the mind spent. An exhausting journey into
pleasure and single-mindedness. FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS..."
Yellow Swans - Psychic Secession (CD) - Load Records $12.00
Beaming down from the sky like a ray of white-hot light intent on
saving us from outselves, the Yellow Swans come up with their second
studio record. Thier other record was “Bringing The Neon War Home” on
narnack Although the band has countless releases documenting their
live aktions, “Psychic Secession” is a work of uncomprimising vison,
weaving together all sides of this duo’s 20-sided die. Moments of
quiet hum but up against crunchy speaker burners to make this record
essential listening. The last few years have seen the Yellow Swans
coat the planet with live dates in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand,
and Europe. Songs on this record were road tested in front of this
planet’s hungry eyes.... you might have heard “True Union”, which has
been a staple of many of these live sets. This record was originally
released in Austrlia by the Numerical Thief label, and comes to you
on LOAD in a remastered format. The new master will allow you to hear
the whispered hush, disjointed pol
yrhthymic attack and squealing how, in a new manner, as the
Australian version is a bit noisier
Zaïmph - sexual infinity (CD) - Hospital Productions $12.00
"marcia bassett of double leopards, hototogisu, fame on her first
proper solo full length has given us one of our favorites in the
history of hospital productions. sexual infinity stands refreshingly
organized into six escalating pieces of her signature guitar, voice,
and electronic moodscapes entrancing the listener with sinister
seduction. comparisons to early 80’s power electronics and industrial
acts as uncommunity, mathausen orchestra and ramleh reside in the
underbelly of zaïmph’s ability to generate ominous, gritty, and doom
laden atmosphere cloaked in a thick lush drone. what begins with raw
ethereal guitar shadows of longing delight closes with vital gripping
electronic tension."
