Arklight - Hell's Black Intelligence (CASS) - tanzprocesz $6.00
"psychedelic noise devil incantations. pre-industrial voodoo music.
C-30 packaged in golden handmade cardboard box. limited to 50
copies." -- REVIEW: Side One – Anatomy of hell - A typewriter forces
voodoo pins into glass. Corpse shadows rise up, soil dripping off
their bony shoulders, swaying robes, carrying plastic bags full of
metal. A chorus of tongue-less moans drift like heavy toxin, as the
contents of the bags are tipped into the jaws of an ever hungry
typewriter spitting sparks of gluttony. This rain of motorized limbs
twitch and scrape the horizon, making shapes - a haunted geometry of
dying spasms. Head-butted guitars to the kzzzzzz of cymbal, behind
every vocorded deflation crashes more mechanical debris as animal
heads float on a carpet of lice. Gnarling electrics creep though the
undergrowth like wire brambles, knotted petals that rot under their
own weight. Side two – Beyond Hypothermia - is a broken beatbox, its
batteries leaking into guitar string claws and gi
ddy disorientation. Drill piano death and dented wood, vocals drowned
in creamy scorch. Wire-wool tea cosy of illegible keyboard and
rotting reverbed gloom. My skin creeps in a tide-like motion to the
carnage, all those textures jostling for attention, making new
sensation, awaking perspectives. Fuck this is a gloriously strangled
tune. Never heard of Arklight before but that mix of Robedoor(esque)
texture and murky experimentation is a winner with me. Pushing doom
metal beyond the one chord reverb, all wrapped up in a suitably
tainted gold slipcase that is marred by slug trail scribble. -
Rottenmeats -

él-g - Capitaine Présent #4 (DVDR) - tanzprocesz $7.00
"Capitaine Présent" is a subconscious audio-serial started in 2004 by
él-g. This Fourth episode is a film with Stolen images from google,

life, universe, teenagehood, theme parks, enterprises, synaptic links
and sweet skizophrenia. Tristan Tzara meets PizzaHut meets You. And
yeah it's french only because it's impossible to subtitle this
object, no place for it. Capitaine Présent #1-2-3 included for yr
never-ending audio pleasure. Totally queer pink plush handmade
packaging. 50 copies.

Entente Cordiale - the recognition of common interests (CD) - Carbon
Records $8.00

of Muler), Chris Reeg (Blood and Bone Orchestra, Crush the Junta, Ian
Downey is Famous, DvsC, Ada le O, The Years) and Joe Tunis (Joe+N,
Crush the Junta, Tuurd, SQ, DvsC, Ada le O, formerly of Hilkka and
Pengo). other instrumentation includes heavy synth, droney melodica
and homemade pipe chimes. co-released by Phantom Limb Recordings.
[packaged in a heavy vinyl sleeve with pro-printed card-stock cover]

Richard Francis - Together alone, together apart (CD) - CMR $8.00
"Edition of 300. Tracks 1 and 2 recorded 2006-2007, track 3 recorded
2003 and previously released on V/A Audible New Frontiers CD (Physics
Room/Radio NZ). Sound sources: field recordings of indoor and outdoor
spaces; handling of fabric, wood and plastic; self noise of home
stereo amplifiers, loudspeakers and record players."

'The building blocks of 'Together Alone, Together Apart' by New
Zealand's Richard Francis are 'sound moments': sonic interludes of a
dozen or so seconds of environmental sound, whose subtle arrangements
and cross-contaminations are the springboard for the compositions
found here. Given the quiet volumes, sounds at the threshold of
audibility are presumably those which have captured his imagination.
A soft hiss and variable low end frequency introduce the first
untitled track, with small crackles, glitches and echoes sporadically
breaking through. The second is considerably more dramatic, with a
flapping rhythm emerging from a grounded hiss like a moth's wings
beating against glass. The final track is almost undetectable, even
with headphones, and strengthens the connections between Francis's
work and the reductive strategies of Bernhard Gunter or John Hudak.
Here, swells of deep frequencies rise and fall along a fog of
unsettled static, concluding a refined and highly recomme
nded album.' - THE WIRE 286, December 2007

Skullflower - IIIrd Gatekeeper (CD) - Crucial Blast $12.00
"A reissue of Skullflower's acclaimed 1992 album IIIrd Gatekeeper,
featuring the lineup of Matthew Bower (guitar), Stuart Dennison
(drums and vocals), and Anthony DiFranco (bass). IIIrd Gatekeeper is
an immensely heavy album that was originally released on HeadDirt,
the label run by Justin Broadrick of Godflesh/Jesu/Final fame back in
the early 90's, and featured Skullflower at their heaviest, grinding
out slow, sludgy riffs and crushing, almost industrial rhythms amid a
tempest of psychedelic guitar noise and dense sheets of feedback -
easily the most crushing, rock-based music that Skullflower ever
produced. IIIrd Gatekeeper served up a skulldozing dose of post-
industrial dirge rock that sat comfortably next to Godflesh, Swans,
and Ramleh in terms of dark, druggy, hypnotic lumbering heaviness.
This is one of our favorite albums ever at Crucial Blast, and we are
presenting this reissue with new liner notes, a new package design
that retains all of the original artwork from t
he HeadDirt release, and a remastering job courtesy of Scott Hull at
Visceral Sound."

Wildildlife - Six (CD) - Crucial Blast $12.00
"A couple months ago (we’re talking mid-Spring ‘07, here), I received
an email from Robotic Empire boss Andy Low commanding me to check out
a couple of songs that a band from San Francisco called Wildildlife
had posted online, immediately. I knew that the dude has a solid idea
of what kind of sounds I’m into, so I pulled up the link immediately
and was totally blown away by the two Wildildlife tunes that I heard.
Heavy, crunchy riffage rolling over celestial FX freakout and gang
choral voices, part pop, part neo-psychedelic noisiness, part
metalloid skullcrush. Super melodic and catchy but vaguely menacing
and dark all at the same time. The band toured through here about a
month later, and I was even more floored by their manic live energy;
the band summoned up a wicked whirlpool of dense distorto crunch and
freaky singing, raging metallic percussive pummel, tribal rhythms and
crushing effects-soaked guitars, subdued floatational drones and
ecstatically gorgeous melodies, all
let loose in a series of sky-streaking eruptions of psychedelic
lowcore and swirling, cosmic sludge. Going back to a review that
Terrascope Magazine wrote about one of the band's earlier CD-R
releases, this sounds vaguely like Black Sabbath and Butthole Surfers
jamming together with ancient forest mystics, an experience both
brutal and beautiful, and which proves that Wildildlife have already
established themselves as serious purveyors of blown-out psych
heaviness. These guys have become one of my favorite new bands, and
I’m MEGA excited to be presenting their first full length Six through
Crucial Blast. The CD version of Six comes in a posh, full-color 4-
panel gatefold jacket printed by Stoughton Printers, which houses the
disc and a full-color 8-page booklet filled with amazing, surreal
photographs by Sabina Holber."
