I too was desperately looking for an alternative to Launchcast before it
was destroyed by CBS. Pandora wasn't offered outside the US and Last.fm
just started charging outside of the U.S. (and U.K. and Germany, I
think). I finally came across Jango.com. I was surprised I hadn't
heard about it before (it is only a year old). It is not as
customizable as was Launchcast, and lacks content from some of my
favourite artists; but on the other hand, has introduced me to other new
artists, allows one to create multiple stations under one I.D., and to
listen to many songs on demand. It appears to be available world-wide.
So far, I haven't heard of any music companies seeking to destroy it,
but I assume they will try to at some point. Until then, I highly
recommend it (though I hesitate to help it grow, lest CBS try to kill it
off before it threatens them, or they start charging after having
reached certain number of subscribers). Still, I wish someone would
buy the Launch program back from Yahoo/CBS, since they aren't using it
anyway, and resurrect it.

be available outside the US. I'm in the Netherlands, Europe. I'll have
to continue my search for a customisable station to replace my
much-regretted Launchcast station.
