Joey Altruda & His Classic Riddims
Joey Altruda is a widely known and well-respected musician, arranger and composer, with an international cult following. He is involved with numerous musical styles including Jamaican, Afro-Cuban, jazz and rock. Longtime co-leader of the group
Jump With Joey, he has produced numerous albums throughout his
career, including "Ska-Ba," "Strictly For You Vol. 2," "Generations
United," "Cocktails With Joey," "Kingston Cocktail" and "Swingin' Ska
Goes South of Th' Border." Over the years, Joey has collaborated with
such musical geniuses as Coxson Dodd, Roland Alphonso, Ernest
Ranglin, Rico Rodriguez, Plas Johnson, Ernie Andrews, Jack Costanzo
and Chocolate. Joey Altruda (on acoustic bass) will be joined by an
all-star cast of musicians and singers including members of Jump With
Joey, Hepcat, Ocean 11, Antibalas Afro-Beat Orchestra, Breakestra,
Dakah Hip Hop Orchestra and Macy Gray's Band. Joey and his all-star
band headlined last year's sold-out 1st Annual Ska & Rocksteady
Bonanza.

See Spot Formed in a North Hollywood garage over fifteen years ago,
See Spot has been one of the leading ska bands in Los Angeles' rich
tapestry of groups since their first professional gig in 1994. This 8-
piece powerhouse delves into rocksteady, reggae and Latin boogaloo in
addition to their own style of rhythmic, traditional ska. Fronted by
vocalist and lead songwriter Chuck Farrar, See Spot has some of the
catchiest tunes the ska world has to offer today. Over the years, See
Spot has had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of the
finest Jamaican musicians around from the originators (The
Skatalites, Justin Hinds) to the modern groundbreakers (The Toasters,
Hepcat) to the contemporary leaders (Reel Big Fish, Go Jimmy Go).
They have frequently performed at such Hollywood venues as the Whisky-
A-Go-Go, Troubadour and B.B. King's Blues Club, and never pass up a
chance to get the crowd moving. See Spot was also among the line-up
of last year's Ska & Rocksteady Bonanza.

The Skeletones with a sound that resonates with the energy of rock
and punk, the rhythms of ska and roots, as well as the mass appeal
of hip-hop, funk and soul, The Skeletones deliver a sound that is as
diverse as their Southern California roots -- yet as easily
accessible as a groove. It is with this distinction that they have
commanded stage performances on three continents for nearly twenty
years. Formed by Paul "Prince Skeletone" Hampton, The Skeletones have
honed their craft by playing alongside icons like No Doubt, Sublime,
Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Skatalites, Incubus, 311 and countless
others. Originally perfectly comfortable to be deemed a "ska" band by
fans and critics alike, The Skeletones latest material promises to
provide an insight into the deepest core of their vast pool of
seemingly unrelated influences. The direct result is a professional
act that has already become an influential force in the music
industry, and one that continues to influence new generations of like-
minded rockers in the process.

Kingston Ska Collective a group of multi-talented Los Angeles-
based musicians have joined forces to pay respect to the Godfathers
of Jamaican music - The Skatalites. The Collective's repertoire
includes a mixture of popular and lesser-known, yet stellar, ska,
rocksteady and reggae compositions by Don Drummond, Tommy McCook,
Roland Alphonso and Jackie Mittoo, as well as by other legendary
Studio One and Treasure Isle session players. Led by trumpeter Eitan
Avineri (of The Allentons, Kingston 10, Full Spectrum fame), Kingston
Ska Collective is dedicated to recreating this amazing and truly
original art form.

La Banda Skalavera  is a 9-piece outfit that is
firmly rooted in rancheras and rock, brimming with ska and punk
attitude, a dab of reggae, cumbia, salsa and heavy metal interwoven
with a Raza feel. Their first official gig was in 1999 at Poly High
in Long Beach for a Cinco de Mayo celebration. Over the past six
years, La Banda Skalavera has continued to bring their high energy,
diverse sound across the Southland to such venues as House of Blues
(both Sunset & Anaheim), The Roxy, Troubadour and Chain Reaction.

Deal's Gone Bad  are a culturally diverse 8-piece band from the streets
of Chicago, IL, Deal's Gone Bad has played their unique brand of '50s
and '60s Jamaican music for the past eleven years. DGB blends reggae,
rocksteady and ska with American soul in a fiery brew all their own.
Having sold a combined 20,000 units of their first three albums, they
have steadily built a following on the road, as evidenced by packed
houses across the Midwest and Southeast. With Todd Hembrook at the
helm, DGB has performed with such notable acts as Mighty Mighty
Bosstones, Toots & The Maytals, Eek-A-Mouse and Flogging Molly.
