Hello ska & scooter massive

It has been a long time since there was a Lawless Mailer sent out.
Things are again as they should be and I plan to get this e-letter
up and going to bring you show listings, scooter rally's and new
release information.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The biggest news right now is the upcoming Las Vegas scooter rally
next weekend. There are going to be scooterists from the UK again as
well as our own contingent of drunken miscreants.Friday is a DJ
night at the Frontier, same as last year hosted by the Boston
Stranglers scooter crew. Saturday will host the Inciters and the
Reducers SF along with great DJ's. More info here:
http://www.scomo.net/vegas.php

After that there is the BlueBeat Lounge every Tuesday @ The Knitting
Factory LA playing ska & reggae. More info at www.bluebeat.cjb.net
2/24 - Dubshine CD release with IrieBeats and Dr. Echo

Every Wednesday - Dub Club @ The Echo with DJ's spinning amazing DUB
and reggae all night long.
1822 Sunset Blvd, Hollywood

Every Sunday - GO Club @ Hollywood Canteen, 1006 Seward St LA

Feb. 8th - DJ Alex (The 45 Club)

Feb. 15th - DJ Reb (Hungry Wolf UK, 100 Club UK, Mods and Rockers,
Dublin)

Feb. 22nd - DJ Rena La Reine (The 45 Club)

---------------------------------------------------------------------

There are more than a few good cd's released lately including:
* See Spot - Who Got It? - Only the 2nd release from the classic LA
trad ska band that really needs no interduction. Check out
www.seespotska.com for more info.
* Dubshine - Compilation of great dub outings from some promising
new bands around the states. More info at www.spishine.org
* Jamaica 69 7 inch - A 4 track outing from this Mexico City band
that sounds and looks very vintage. More info at
www.lawlessrecords.com
* Steady Ups - Soul of the City - The debut album from this Northern
California band. Check out www.jumpuprecords.com
* The offical release date for the re-release of Hepcat's "out of
Nowhere" is March 23rd. The album will include all 13 tracks that
appeared on the original release as well as two bonus
tracks, "Nigel" and "Club Meditation".
* King Terror VS. The Aggrolites- "Cemetary Dub", will be released
on AXE Records ( http://www.axerecords.com ) in April. All of the
songs are new. This dub album was a side project for The Aggrolites.
All of the songs were recorded one Sunday afternoon in about 3
hours. The styles range from roots to dancehall . The songs are
original, but pay homage to the dub engineers of their respective
time periods(i.e.-'74ish 'Roots' like King Tubby. Late
70's 'Rockers' like Prince Jammy. Early 80's 'Dancehall' like
Scientist). Be prepared to dance!
