Lawless Mailer: Dillon passes on, Irie Beats news   Message List

Hello rudies, punks, skins, mods, scooterboys and girls. There is a
ton of news and shows coming up. I am still trying to
expand this listing and reach more people, so if you could forward
this to as many people as you can, I would appreciate it.

May looks to be a killer month for shows and news to be sure. There
is the Aggrolites weekend at the Whisky at the start of
the month and of course the HEPCAT gigs at the end of the month. What
a month!

First of all it comes with a heavy heart to report that the great and
mighty songbird Phyllis Dillon has passed away. She sang such songs
as "Woman of the Ghetto", "Perfidia", "Midnight Confession", "Don't
Touch Me Tomato" and many more amazing songs. She played here in LA
only a few times but really made an impact and touched many of us
with her performances. Let's all remember what a great singer she was
and say thanks that we were able to show her how much she meant to us
when she was here.

Second the Lawless Street website is undergoing a huge update so bare
with me if all the links and pages don't fully work. I am making
things better, I hope anyway! There are new products and services
being added along with a better layout and focus on the events and
bands that are making our little scene such a joy of late.

The 1st Lawless Street CD should be done and ready for a full release
by June. It is going to be the IrieBeats newest! They have come along
way in the last year and I think are ready to make a statement. There
is going to be small prerelease 8 song EP available next month at the
shows that will showcase the direction they have gone. Look for it.
We are then going to be working to get them out there and playing as
many gig as possible.

Here are some last minute gigs you should check out and the regular
calendar listing.
