I recently rejoined this list and noticed that nothing is happening.
Checking the web site, I see that it has been awhile since *anyone* has
posted. So I'll tell you *our* good news. The DeWitt Branch, Davenport
Iowa Stake is getting a new chapel! Ground-breaking is next month and we
should have occupancy by December. But here's the best news of all: My
husband (branch clerk) says the new organ we are getting will have all 310
hymns programmed into it! What a blessing that is for us. If the organist
is gone, we have to use the CDs (and I add disc jockey to my already long
list of callings). I am already the branch Music Chairman, Branch
Chorister, RS Chorister, and de facto Choir Director. I know a great deal
about music, but alas, I can barely play the piano. I had lesssons when I
was a kid, but never got good enough to play hymns in church. My children
all play in the school band, but as much as I wanted to, I was never able to
afford piano lessons for them. It will be great having that organ!
