I have just posted an article about the "Four Founders" of LDS Hymnody on
my
website which I originally wrote if for the HYMN Magagazine, but they turned it
down. I have modified it slightly and posted it for your reading pleasure:

Keep in mind it was written for a non-LDS target audience, so choice of
hymns,
presentaiton of history, etc, were catered towards that audience. I may someday
